wrathchild Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 Hey all I'm redoing my Ke20's steering joints and have come across real trouble disengaging the tapered thread in my tie rod end. I managed to get one side of but can't get the other. I have tried bashing it off, using a fork (I think it was too big), heating it up and nothing seems to work. Unfortunately I cannot find a pitman arm puller that is the right size as I need one smaller than 27mm and stores only sell 35mm ones. I am replacing the tie rod ends, ball joints, pitman and idler arm. Does anyone have any suggestions or tools that could do the job? Really need my car up and running again as it is my daily. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Paul Quote
te27 Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 Hi Paul I bought a cheap tool from autopro in Melbourne , I had to grind it down so it fit nicely , give me your number and I'll send u a pic of the tool later tonight of exactly where I grinder it to fit. It works a treat , cost me I think $20 no more Quote
