kazzpog33 Posted June 30, 2012 Report Posted June 30, 2012 GEnts, would it be just fine to put 5 bolts on the pressure plate instead of 6 with the flywheel? I believed that the torque is in the disk going to the shaft and not with it.. Quote
kazzpog33 Posted June 30, 2012 Author Report Posted June 30, 2012 the bolt just got broken and stuck into flywheel.. rusty bolt head is the only thing remains with me.. so i need a machine shop right now? Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted June 30, 2012 Report Posted June 30, 2012 (edited) get a drill and a set of these screw/bolt extractors. they screw in in reverse. Edited June 30, 2012 by B.L.Z.BUB Quote
kazzpog33 Posted June 30, 2012 Author Report Posted June 30, 2012 Thanks.. i'll give it a shot... need to pull down again the gearbox, its already installed. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted June 30, 2012 Report Posted June 30, 2012 Make sure you get a good set of the bolt extractors, last one I used was a cheap one and it was a nightmare to get it to grip. Once you own them though they come in handy. Quote
philbey Posted June 30, 2012 Report Posted June 30, 2012 (edited) not a good idea. Just get a thread extractor, or a set of needle punches and about 4 hours of your time and get it out. The pressure plate bolts are in tension and they're responsible for taking the force applied by the pressure plate to the clutch plate. with one down, you might sacrifice some clamping force (read: clutch slip).
