I'm confused about the cut and shut. Ive only seen the alloy manifold being cut and shut. I have a silver top 20v and the cover on the manifold is made of 1 - 1.5mm thick mild steel. Looks like the FWD inlet is braised on or something as i have cut it off and about to weld it up and the existing weld is a goldy colour.

 

Am i doing it right?

 

I'm going to find a piece of 70mm exhaust pipe and cut a hole in the other end of the manifold and weld it in as the inlet.

 

Am I doing it right?

 

Has anybody got some pics?
