ryan_94 Posted December 12, 2012 Report Posted December 12, 2012 hey guys, sorry in advance because I'm sure this gets asked 24-7. i recently purchased a full set of DGR ae86 coilovers, camber tops on front, 30point dampening etc. i bought these knowing that i would have to change my steering arms/lca's/brakes etc to ae86, but i can't find any of these parts. is there any way around doing this? can i weld these directly onto my ke70 spindle's and have a good result? keep in mind the fronts are weld on's, and the rears bolted in perfect so no issues in that area. Cheers, Ryan Quote
It's_AUDM_Yo Posted December 12, 2012 Report Posted December 12, 2012 (edited) I can guarantee pretty much that everyone will say a) the KE70s won't fit or b) its a waste of time. Edit: I'm certain they won't fit Other cars that will work are xt130 Corona or RA40 celica as their struts are the same as AE86 so that will broaden up your search. Also RA65 should work as the their diameter is the same as AE86 but some people complain about the angles and shit but I have them in my car and I find them fine. You'll need the steering arms and brakes from whatever the car the brakes are from. The standard LCAs are fine. They are 99.9999% the same as AE86. There is other options for longer ones but a quick search will show you shitloads of info. Edited December 12, 2012 by It's_AUDM_Yo Quote
ryan_94 Posted December 12, 2012 Author Report Posted December 12, 2012 thanks man, a mate who used to be into rollas still has some corona stuff laying around as he was in the same situation but never got around to it. i remember seeing he still had the struts and assembly there, but don't think the brakes were there. are you saying my ke brakes wont fit the corona parts? It's_AUDM_Yo Posted December 12, 2012 Report Posted December 12, 2012 Yeah KE70s have tiny spindles and bearings whereas Corona are much bigger. You could always just do the hilux brake upgrade if you had issues finding the parts as the parts for that are easy to come by and cheap. Just google xt130 hilux brake upgrade for info on that as there is a few ways it can be done. Quote
