What is the best way of removing a front bumper on an AE80 hatch short (not seca) I want to put the driving lights near the grill and don't think I can get my hand under the bumper to do the nuts up

If you remove the front grille, you'll have access to the back-side of the front bumper. If your mounting arrangement dictates front bumper removal (this is from memory, so forgive me if I omit anything):

 

- Undo the fasteners that secure the upper sides of the bumper to the front of the front wheel-arches & the lower braces there.

- Remove park-lights, head-lights & grille, disconnect wiring for bumper indicators, you now have access to the 4 main bolts at the front that attach the bumper to the brackets. Undo those & off she comes. :y:

 

Edit: Forgot about the bumper indicator wiring. :oops:
