Ke20 Front Trim Question

hi, I'm a newb to the rolla world, I have just purchased a 71 ke20 2 door, it needs new trims that sit beside the headlight and they have a small indicator in them, I have seen other trims on ebay that don't have the indicator, they are just plain, will these still fit my car as I'm fnding it hard to find the 1s I need with the indicator, I do understand I will have to make holes to fit other indicators in the guards which is no big deal as its getting a whole respray anyways, just need to know if the trims without indicators will fit into my guards, I have tried looking at pics to see if the trims look the same shape, but its hard to tell, any help is appreciated, also my taillights seem to go down to the bumper, can I fit the later model 1's and make a filler panel to fill the gap down to the top of the bumper? these squarer taillights seem to be harderto find where the rectangle thin type seem to be plentiful, (sorry bout the 1 big sentence, but my enter buttom don't seem to work while I'm writing threads or replying to posts, works everywhere else tho!!) any help is appreciated and I will get pics of the car up as soon as the weather clears up a little!! krem

yes mate certainly is, wanna sell them if they not broken?? lol

or will the later model 1,s with no indicators fit and I will just put another indicator in the guard like the later model 1s!!

also need some earlier model taillights, the boxy looking 1,swith the reverse light on the bottom

Hi Paul,

My posted picture above was not of my car unfortunately. (I used to have a KE20 while living overseas years ago) It was a photo I found on the internet whilst researching your query. Some other RC members who have KE20s may be able to answer your query more accuately.

 

I'll keep my eyes open to see if I can't help solve your problem.

cheers banjo, iwas told the guards were the same minus side indicators, but my grill s in that pic and I don't like the way it don't match up along the bottom,

looks like I'm in the hunt for the early type then!!

just a thought, would the repro items in that thread (or all the repro items) just fit shit like most repro items do??

I have noticed that phils rotaries sell the repro 1's, and having rotaries and being on ausrotary, a lot of his stuff is pretty ordinary (repro stuff),

just wondering if original items would fit better??

These are the reproduction items from eBay on my ke20. Your right, fitment isn't great, but...

...sometimes you gotta do what do gotta you sometimes ; )

My car isn't a show car so I'm not to concerned.
