Hey all just wondering if anyone knows if a manual gearbox from a 1.6L ae101 will fit a 1.6L in an ae92. Any help will be much appreciated.

should be interchangeable as the gearbox will have come from an 4A/7A engine

I think they will, as A series engine --> C series gearbox. My AE80 with a 2A-C came with a C40 (4 speed) gearbox, I have had bolted up to it: an AE82 C50, an AE92 C52 & currently, an AE101 C56. You may have to swap the brackets on the gearbox that bolt to the mounts on the cross-member over with your existing ones, as there are differences in the brackets between models.

 

You will also need to swap your existing speedometer drive unit in the gearbox with the one in the AE101, if the AE101 item is electronic as opposed to a cable drive item found in earlier gearboxes.
