B-Lugg
Hey dudes. I recently installed a T3 short shifter in to the Rolla for mad shiftz. Although, I completely blanked that there was going to be a difference between a LHD and RHD shifter, so my shifter is ever so slightly angled to the left. It's definitely usable and unless I find something incredible, it will stay. I've read that there is three popular options for short shifters in this application - TRD, cheap eBay crap and T3. All having different pros and cons. Just looking to see what you guys run and what you do and don't like about them. :y:
B.L.Z.BUB
I'm using a $50 KLS short shifter. I had to shim it slightly for a tight fit but apart from that its has been faultless. Well made, solid steel construction and looks very presentable. EDIT: $180 dollary-doos?????? B-Lugg
I'm using a $50 KLS short shifter. Interesting - happen to know the reduction in throw etc? Where'd you buy it?
B.L.Z.BUB
Bought it on eBay. Throw from first to second is 90mm. Its also a threaded two piece, so you can use it standard length or change the top extention to whatever is comfortable. I'm trying to hunt a dogleg down to move the whole thing forward slightly because my arm hits my seat bolster when I shift. Uses the stock pivot. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-KLS-Short-Throw-Shifter-TOYOTA-AE86-SPRINTER-4AGE-AE92-AE111-/281250584822?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item417bd758f6&_uhb=1 Edited February 18, 2014 by B.L.Z.BUB
B-Lugg
That's US dollars postage not included mate, worked out to $230 odd AUD delivered... lol. I can't be mad though - I got it for free. Admittedly, it's a terrifically made product. They definitely haven't skimped on the materials or design. I might buy one of those to have a play with if they're that cheap! I would love to get some input from someone running a TRD shifter.
