Drifting_Ninja Posted May 23, 2014 Report Posted May 23, 2014 So I've got a set of XT130 struts that i'm going to convert to coilovers but they didn't come with steering knuckles. Rather than sift through all the threads and forums looking for a second hand set i figure i might as well get some brand spankers from the T3 guys. I'm pretty sure that I could just use the ae86 standard knuckles. https://technotoytuning.com/toyota/ae86/steering-knuckles-ae86-corolla But would these be better suited as I'm not using ae86 struts? https://technotoytuning.com/toyota/ae86/hybrid-steering-knuckles-ae86-corolla-using-ma60-mx73-and-other-strut-casings Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted May 23, 2014 Report Posted May 23, 2014 You will not be able to run RCA's with AE86 knuckles. I hunted for shorter arms for ages that would work. I ended up getting my XT130 arms shortened. This is because the XT130 balljoint holes are offset to the bolt holes which pushes the brake rotor out away from the end of the LCA. If you use arms without this hole offset then it brings the rotor in too close, even without RCA's you need to massage the end of your LCA for rotor clearance. If you want I can point you towards the guy who modified mine. Quote
