oldie
Hi there, was just wondering if it is possible to remove the top black extension piece on a KE70 gearstick without doing to much damage to anythhing,I need to alter the curve and throw directionto clear my handbrake and seat bases so want to remove the black section and fabricate a new shaped piece to replace it. filfrederick
I can't remember if all ke's were the same but most have a rubber bush between the lower small shaft and the larger top part to reduce vibration. You would probably be best to make a new top half with a neat fitting steel sleeve to slide over the original bottom half and peg/grub screw it into place. Welded gearsticks have a bad habit of coming off in your hand if not done correctly.
