MI55KE Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Hi all, Took my car for a pink slip and it didn't pass. The things that need fixing are the Idler Arm and the steering column box. I've found out basically what the idler arm is but not sure how to go about fixing it...could i do it myself or would i need a mechanic? Also with the steering column box, i have no idea what's in involved or whether or not i need a mechanic, parts etc. Any help and advice would be good!! Cheers ~*CaRz!*~ Quote
billygoat Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 In my experience steering column boxes can be overhauled but will take acouple of days to do. idler arms are easy to do. It will require a wheel alignment once done so I would take it to the mechanic who will get parts organise the overhaul and do the wheel alignment. good luck Jarrod Quote
Robert Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Put the Idler arm on yourself, then take it for a drive, it may not need a wheel alignment. What's wrong with the steering box? Quote
