Are Ke3x and Ke5x doors the same (internally and externally)

Yes and no.

 

They are interchangable, however, I believe them to be constructed differently internally. (2 door model..)

AFAIK, you're bang on the money. That's the main difference.

Yeah they are identical to look at, and as far as handles and door trims etc go they are the same, but as mentioned..the KE55 ones have the side intrusion...and as such are much heavier
