4k Gearbox 4-5speed ( How To Tell Difference)

Hey All,:monkey:

Just after some advice .... i brought a KE70 and got heaps of spares including a couple of manual gearboxes but as i have no shifter to check does anyone have a idea if you can tell externally between the 4speed and the 5speed as i want to get rid of them (2).

Any pointers would be good.

P.S. This has probably been asked 1,000....."s of times but i couldn't get any matches with the forum search. :)

stick a screw driver in the shifter hole and stur it round, if it clicks into 6 places its a 5 speed (reverse, i know what your thinking)

extension housing on the 5 speed is larger to take the 5th gear.

That wont help him if he only has 4 speeds, or only 5 speeds though :faq:
