Post Whoring has become more prevalent across the board. It is creeping into every topic.

According to the Urban Dictionary the definition of a post whore is:

It was originally a term to describe a person who posted quickly and in many threads of a Message Board. In most cases, the post whore had a high-speed internet access and could post more often before posters of the dial-up speed because of their long wait for pages to load up.

Post whore is now associated with someone who posts mindless posts on a Message Board, barely adding anything to the conversation if even that. Most cases, it's a short one sentence post or even just a single emoticon.

You will be warned ONCE

After that if your performance continues you will receive the following PM from one of the admins ....

PM Topic: Your Status Has Been Modified

Dear Member,

You have recently been added to the Post Whore category of members.

You have been flamed appropriately after some warnings.

button_whore.gif

has been added to your profile under your avatar and [Post Whore] listed after your name in the member list.

Once you have resumed normal posting habits (yes you will be scrutinised) you can revert to your old status.

You have limited capacity as a Post Whore - you cannot create topics and cannot create or respond to polls.

You can respond to topics including your own, however, if the current posting trend does not improve you will be limited to responding to your own topics only.

There will be no further correspondence unless your posting habits fail to improve or you are removed from the Post Whore Group.

For the benefit of the board, the ease of finding useful information and the respect of other posters, Post Whoring and Thread Hijacking will no longer be tolerated.

The Karma System discussed in other threads will help reduce some of these practices, however repeat offenders will be made publicly visible to ALL board members.
