  2. ooo shit i really want to stay aaway from the copers. My car is not the most legal car on the street :D what kind of arms would you suggest Nick that wouldnt be so eye catching?
  3. ye that will be great. really interested how u did it
  4. Well finally i have snapped out of putting the rotary into my ke30. The amount of negative feedback i was getting and stories of rotaries have put me off rotarys for life :D So I'm back on track to my original plan, putting a 5k into my ke30. Now that i have started uni, money has been very limited so i havent been able to do much. i bought two monza racing seats for 300 buks, great condition, but only have to bolt the seatbelts to the chassis, because the seatbolts were originaly bolted to the seat. I bought a rear bumper also in great condition, no bumps or rust, however it is sticking out abit on the side due to a my dented panel (from the previous owner). I got a pair of ta22 struts with monro shocks and king springs which i tried to put in, however, the ta22 struts are too small to fit onto the control arm. From this dilema, i desperatly tried to find a control arm that fits to the struts. i recently found that sigma control arms can be used, so I'm searching for these atm.
  5. thanks alot mate. Well, i bought the ta22 struts for both reasons, suspension and brakes. The struts came with lowered king springs and monro shocks which where better than my pedders suspension on the ke30. Also, ta22 brakes are slightly bigger than the ke 30 brakes, but i am going to put pintara rotors and comodore calipers as the upgrade. Well i bought the struts straight away because i needed a brake upgrade, and the fact that the ta22's i bought had good suspension made them a certain buy. I heard from my mates that the ta22 struts are a straight bolt in into ke30's so i rushed without doing any research. IT was until i put the struts in that i discovered that the size of the strut that connected to the arm was just too short to bolt in. So now i took the ta22's out, and was desperatly looking for some control arms (as seen in my recent messages) lol. Also with the struts out i may just leave them out and save up for the brake conversion, and maybe coilover setup. So why do you want to put in ta22's? if i had known that the ta22's where not a straight bolt in, i would have gone with the corona front struts, with the peuget disk and hilux caliper upgrade.
  6. Lollll shutup. I'm gonna replace the control arm, however am unsure which arm to use. The options i have heard are 1.Ta22 arms 2. ke 70 arms? 3.RA40 arms? Are there any other options? Need help, goin carzy :D lol
  7. thanks heaps mate. Where can i get this faq, on rolla club or a search on google or somthing?
  8. hey guys. I'm tryin to put some ta22 struts into my ke30 but it seems like the struts are too small. The two bolt holes connecting to the control arm are not sitting flush like there supposed to. Is this supposed to happen or are there mods that have to be done? has anyone done this conversion before? help would be greatly appreciated, cause its killing me :D :D
  9. hey guys. ive gone on a bit of a tangent to my inital thoughts but now I'm putting a 12a rotary in my ke30. I bought an series 1 rx7 for 1K and am putting that motor in my ke30. I know a bloke that has all the engine mounts and cross members that are needed for the conversion. Also i was thinking if i can put the following rx7 parts into my ke30 -gearbox? -clutch? -diff? -Struts? My mate is also selling his ta22 struts to me. Will these brakes be strong enough to cope with the 12a motor, or should i look for other stronger means? thanks
  10. hmmmm i was thinking along the lines of n/a tuning, put in the extra money and make that rolla fly :D. yeah ill leave a 4age engine for later on, prob on a different car, but for now a worked 5k will do nicely. Cheers
  11. LOLL thanks heaps for the advice Cheers :D
  12. yeah I'm choosing to work on a 5k motor and see how it goes. I'm just looking for abit of extra power compaired to my weak 3k, and not looking to spend a whole heap of money. Cheers
  13. ye thanks heaps I'm just curios if a worked 5k motor will have the power I'm looking for, around 120/130 kw range? The the only uncertanty i have is if i have a worked 5k, and its not giving the power i want. This will then lead me to another engine conversion, and i really don't want to make the mistake of doing 2 engine conversions.
  14. Hey guys thanks for the advice. Well the reason ive wanted to do a 5k turbo conversion instead of the 4agze is because ive heard its so much easier to convert. With a 4agze u have to get crossmembers, change gearbox etc. And I'm not really 100% sure of how to do that. However, ive always wanted a supercharged motor in my car, it would add alot more power to my car. Is it really that hard to put crossmembers, change gearbox etc? Also which is the cheaper option? Thanks, Stephen
  15. Hey everyone i bought this 1977 KE30 about a month ago all the way in Dapto for 900 buks. The car looked in pretty good condition, not much rust, imaculate interior. I had the car stock for about 3 weeks and then came across these black racing wheels, 250 buks for 4 with rubber! Unfortunatly one was buckled so i used only 2 on the fronts. As soon as i got those wheels on i got syked and cut 2 coils off my front springs. As soon as i lowered the front i discovered how useless the stock shocks were, s i bought a pair of pedders gas shocks and also a pair of pedders lowered springs. The cars off the road now because of a fuel problem or carbi problem, but hopefully it should be on the road soon Things to do (hopefully)- -new struts(prob celica struts) and then new front and back brakes -lowered leave springs -shocks for the back After i get all the suspension fixed, gonna do a engine conversion, either a turbo 5k or 4agze, still tossing up between the 2. Thanks, Stephen
