  1. hey mate i know this is an old thread but i was having a look at my old 5k head that was on a flat top piston 5k and the casting number is 81. just posting it here as i couldnt find info as to what it was on the faq
  2. Hmmm thanks for the tip rollla ill try it out tommorow and see how it goes.
  3. I put the front bar back on and it doesnt look good so ill probably leave it off.
  4. Just got my wheels from Brisbane, Work Equip E01's 14x6.5 with 0 offset. Also got some advan 195/60/14 semislicks on them. The tyres are hitting the front guards but i got some replica te27 flares which should fix that problem. Enjoy :kiwi:
  5. thats soo cool :kiwi: i love it
  6. Hey guys i know its been a while but ive done heaps to the old corolla and its looking great. Ive chucked in a 5k motor with stage 2 cam, lightened flywheel, extractors,3k head and twin su's. The car runs really well, sounds awsome and is better than i expected. Ive recently finished it and just need to get the carbies tuned to get it running really nice. While ive been doing th motor i also found some fender mirrors of ebay, garden edging, and some twin headlights off an old crown i saw down at the wreckers. Hope you guys like it cause I'm loving it! Steve
  7. Hey guys ive recently bought a stage 2 cam (265 adv dur) for my 5k and am not 100% sure on a couple of things for it. I have scaned the faq on installing a cam and have found that the lifters have to be faced so that the lifters/cam lobes are not damaged. Is it possible to remove the lifters and get them faced at any machining shop? Also i have a spare 4k motor and have removed the rocker arms and pushrods. Is it possible to use these parts on the 5k head with hydro lifters as the rocker arms are adjustible? I am abit of a noob to this kind of stuff so all advice or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
  8. Hey guys I'm building a 5k atm however i am unsure on what inlet manifold to use. I have the standard 5k manifold however i am using a head that has been ported and i am also using a bigger carby(32/36 weber). Will i have to use a different manifold with bigger ports or can i still use the standard one? Cheers.
  9. Hey guys i know which cam i want to get, and i have looked at the faq and the cam that I'm certain on getting is the ce701, but not 100% sure. The reason ive opened this thread is to ask where i can buy a camshaft alone and then put it in the motor myself, instead of taking it to mechanics and paying a fortune. Sorry if i have asked the question to vaugely.
  10. hey guys I'm just wondering were i can get a good cam fort my 5k motor in sydney. Thanks

Wheels & Tyres: 14inch black racing rims with yokohaa tyres whitewalls. Interior:stock seats, vdo tacho, nardi wheel, pioneer deck and 6 by 9s, ke70 console. Body:different grill, venitians, straight bumpers, all major rust has been cut out and metal welded.
  12. With the new lights and lowered rear end it looks sex. You got any pics of it man?
  13. Hey mate i had the exact same problem with my car and the coil was the problem, so ye I'm guessing its the coil.
  14. hey mate I used sigma gh lower contorl arms on my ke30 and it gave a small and good amount of camber. Not sure if this will work with a 10.
  15. yeah i just use the centre box behind the handbrake as a cup holder. The ke70 console is really easy to do and i recomend it cause its so easy and useful plus it looks good.
  16. ye man i thought it would be easy so i went wreckers, bought it for like 30 buks, sprayed it with some black vinyle spray and just fitted it. I needed to cut abit of the plastic near the shifter but apart from that it came out sweet.
  17. oo and some picies for ya-
  18. got abit of work done on the rolla in the past couple of weeks. The first thing was that all the rust was cut out, because the rego was going to run out. But (cause I'm lazy) i just left the car and let it run out of rego. Since then ive done a couple of small things like nardi steering wheel, vdo tacho,ke70 centre console thingo, and lowering blocks (for the mean time). I also got a 5k with a 5speed g/box with a 32/36 weber on it, and bought 4 into 1 extractors. For now I'm trying to save up for rego so that i don't allow it to need a blue slip, cause my car most probably will not pass a blue slip. Ive got a problem however, as I'm not sure what to do after i get rego -leave the motor out and work it or -put in the motor as it is. Its just for every day driving and I'm not sure whether the 5k atm will have enough power. What do you guys think? stephen
  19. hey mate I'm currently doing a 5k conversion into my ke30 and was wondering on what parts u used from the 4k and also what kind of inlet manifold that is? the one i have atm looks a bit different and has a port that connects to the stock exhaust manifold...i have a set of 4-1 extractors and was wondering what to do with the inlet manifold
  20. yes I'm interested in the same mod onto a 5k into a ke30
  21. damm some1 noticed lol yeah the metal were the front guard bolts to underneath the car has completely rusted out. Thats another thing on my long list of fixing.
  22. loll yes it would come to think of it :D
  23. hey guys its been ages since i last posted, and ive done alot in that time :D Firstly got a fourth black racing wheel to match the others and it looks wicked. Cheering. After that i focused on putting the ta22 struts in, so i went down to the wreckers and picked up sigma gh lower control arms, ra40 steering knuckles and rack ends, and other (chrome peices and a new front guard! looks hot). Then went out and bought new tierod ennds, ball joints and nolathen bushes. Got them all pressed in, and was ready to put everything in. As i was putting them in, all was going well, then i found that the sigma control arms with bushes were way bigger than the ke30 ones. From then on, i thought it was going to be a long day, hoever it wasnt to bad. Got a peice of metal as a wedge and then passed the control arm through. Bolted everything up and viola camber. I'm pretty happy that i got the earlier model arms than the later, because the car has a good amount of camber and handles alot better, and not a stupid amount that is cop attracting. Also cut thesprings to make it abit lower, howver now regret it as the tyres scrape the guards. From now saving money for coilovers, shocks, wheel allignment, and new leaf springs to bloody lower the back lol Before- After-
