  1. will def check all the hoses this weekend! Wanna hear more about the "hot idle compensator". how do i tell if it has one? or can some1 confirm this? sounds like its a pretty good description of the problems I'm having. otherwise i will try borrow my mates petrol pump! Worst case i will change the choke to when its really really warm (when problem starts). Thanks all
  2. checked timing only 2 weekends ago. was out, but i adjusted it. shouldn't go out again in such a short time without changing something should it??? thanks for the reply tho  Any other ideas??
  3. I have a completely stock 3k in my ke20. When i first start the car i use the choke to get her goin and untill shes warm. Then i don't need any choke while driving around. Can drive for as long as i want. All sounds normal right? then when i stop the car, n let it sit for a bit, 10-20mins i start her up and she seems fine, but after i drive off and have to stop (traffic light or somehthing) it stalls. so i start her up again but have to leave the choke pulled out half way. I can drive for an hour or so (sou'd think it would def be warm again) but i still need the choke pulled out bout half way, otherwise everytime i go to stop it stalls. But it drives for hours the 1st time i start her up with no choke! what the??? Can anyone explain??
  4. now your just braggn!!ha ha! Beautiful cars!!!
  5. thanks, i have sent msg's to both of them! great help again
  6. Hi all, this mite be a dumb question, but where can i get lowering blocks from for my ke20??? Live in adelaide n not sure who would sell them. Thanks in advance!
  7. Thats def the next plan!! always want just a bit better!
  8. oh sweet! thanks for that extra info! def the same sound when accelerating and decelerating! so looks like i mite not need new def right now. also good to no that a dif place will go for a drive with you first, thought they mite not be able to tell untill they rip it appart and charge you for it before they can tell you whats wrong! Thanks!
  9. Hi, have ke20 all stock , and i have a noise coming from the rear of the car when driving. Initially thought it was either coming from the dif or wheel bearing. Today i was cruising along down a very slight hill. i played around putting the car in 4th and driving for a bit listen to the sound and then i would put it into neutral and roll for a bit. the sound was exactly the same when i was driving and when i was rolling. In my head it makes me think that the sound is more likely a wheel bearing. because if it was the dif, the sound would b different between rolling a driving. Am i correct in thinking that??? Or is there another explanation??
  10. yeah, looked at mine and its the same as you have explained!.maybe when i swap my engine out, mite pull that out too and do it then!! Adjusted my steering and its awesome! so much better! thanks again. looked at my steering bushes and they look pretty old, so mite just replace them all anyways!
  11. sweet will check that when i check the steering n let others no if there is a drain plug or not
  12. You guys are awesome!! such a quick response and it sounds like you actually no what your talking about!! So....i'll check all the joint's 1st, make adjustment as described above, and advised to do a box lube change! Sounds like a plan! What is involved with the box lube change? is there just a drain plug and fill from top set up? or is it more involved?? Will prob get a chance on the weekend to have a play around, will let you no the cause! Glad u reckon i can get it down to half inch! was hopin it wasn't a characteristic of this type of set up!! Thanks again every1!
  13. Hi all, just bought my 1st rolla (ke20) n it has a lot of play in the steering. can turn the wheel nearly 2 inches before it actually engages the steering. Just wondering if there is some sort of adjustment i can do, or if it requires reconditioning or need new steering column?? If it requires some reconditioning, what exactly do i need and can it be done with basic tools?? Sorry if this seems like a basic question to some, just never had to play around with steering before! Thanks in advance!
  14. looks better in real life too! interior is awesome aswell, looks like its been bought brand new and sent here in a time capsule. Think its also done less miles too! (not taking anything away from original poster also a nice car!)
