  1. Will do mate, hopefully it does, I've heard of people doing this before and the sway bars do look very similar...
  2. Thanks for the info, Vn rear sway bars are 19mm thick and the whiteline ones are 18mm thick I'm pretty sure, i can get a vn swaybar for $50 from the wreckers where as a whiteline one is $250. The whiteline would be the better option but if it works $50 is pretty cheap :)
  3. Does anyone know whats involved in putting a VN commodore rear sway bar in an AE71? Is there any modifications that need to be made in order for it to fit? Thanks!
  4. Thanks heaps appreciate it!
  5. Hi all, I know theres probably heaps of other topics about ae86 coilovers into ae71, but i just need clarity on one thing, i know that i'll need ae86 steering arms but can i get away with using my standard ae71 hubs and brakes? Will these bolt up with the coilovers? Or will i definitely need to get ae86 hubs and brakes as well?
  6. Haha, na i don't know anyone that has one unfortunately, i think i might try the computer for now and see how that goes, thanks mate!
  7. Yeah that is strange, yeah the engine seems to be running well, I'm not running any aftermarket rpm gauge just the standard AE71 Tacho, maybe it could be out? I have a spare stock computer, do you think it is safe to swap to that one and see if it makes any difference?
  8. I've put a 16v smallport in my AE71 and for some strange reason the limiter is not there anymore? It used to limit at 7700 rpm which i think is standard for a smallport but now will rev to 8000 rpm and still not hit the limiter, ive only done this a couple of times as i don't want to hurt the engine at all, but just don't know why it isnt there anymore? Its completely standard with standard computer only mods are extractors and pod filter, any help is appreciated!
  9. Cheers! No worries i'll be sure to keep all this info you've given me when i put it in
  10. Yeah off the ae92 loom, i may even be able to get away with leaving them unplugged This is my engine here, still need to get a few things: -fuel pump -surge tank -make the rest of the exhaust -cut and shut intake -etc etc lol
  11. And can't find where these go? Sorry haha
  12. Cheers man!
  13. Do you know where this plug goes?
  14. Thats good to know then, i was going to go to the effort to find an intake and airbox so i could get the sensor lol
  15. Oops will it still run okay if the sensor isnt plugged in?
  16. Aw yeah thats a good idea, so can you leave it unplugged? Will i
  17. Looks really good you've done a great job! Yeah I'm jus not 100% sure what to do with that breather that goes through the throttle body because when i cut and shut it, it will get blocked? Also on your intake do you have the sensor on it ? As in the one thats usually on the air box on an AE92? think its a blue plug?
  18. Okay ill check it out, looks good though man, did have to cut and shut your intake?
  19. Thanks heaps for that, i really appreciate it! Aw yeah so when you put yours in, did your horn , headlights etc just plug straight in to it? If you have a picture of your engine bay (you don't have to go to the effort to take one) pm it to me and ill check it out if thats cool?
  20. Thank you, i have a wiring diagram at home so i can check what they are prob A/C and stuff, Aw yeah ill see if i can, then where would i plug all the things on that loom up to?
  21. Thanks so much for that! Thats heaps helpful! so do i need that other loom? and if you don't mind that would be great if you could tell me which ones i need, thanks again!
  22. Hi all, just wondering, i have purchased a Smallport and its got 2 looms, one loom i have plugged up to the engine and the other loom I'm not sure what it is? Its definitely different to the engine loom, is it possibly an interior loom? and the smallest plug that goes into the ECU has cut wires, where does this go to? And can I run my original interior loom with the ECU? Also, is there any plugs on the engine that wont need to be plugged in at all? Any help will be greatly appreciated!
  23. hey, i purchased a 32/36 downdraft Weber for my 4A-C from a wreckers off a ford escort and it works nicely, main reason i got one was because my automatic choke didn't work properly but it also runs alot smoother than my previous stock carby, especially higher up in the rev range. It's not really all that hard to put on, just a bit of mucking around setting up all the hoses and stuff.
