  1. well there is a kit with manifold carbs and all linkages and shit ready to bolt on basically on ebay for 1300 but they are only twin 40's... so yeah will be looking out for manifold etc or make one up... but yeah as stated before don't wanna go carbs because its the best option just cause it will be a challenge... and the induction sound is second to none not even ITB's sound like em... but yeah keen on specs... i know carbs can be a bitch at time but have a couple of motorbike mechanic mates and know one of the best weber tuners in brisbane...
  2. planning as an everyday... don't mind a car that is a bit of a pig tho... i wanna go half decent thats all... not something that will be average and have to flog to be happy... i wanna build it to get flogged... but i have a daily 121ski for everyday duties so yea...
  3. yeah have come to that conclusion have decided to just use a small port engine rebuild high compression like 11.5:1... the paradise racing head... and strap on some twin webers probably 40mm or a bit bigger depending on what size i will need to run 150hp atw...
  4. cheers for all the input... sounds like everyone has their own opinions... seems most are more into the twin webers/delortos tho... I'm all good with that as long as they are good for the hp i wanna try and run... like say 150 hp atw... I'm gonna build the motor high comp everything aiming for maybe 11-11.5:1 and race head like O/S valves race valve springs good port and polish big cams probably 288...
  5. thanks mate keen for any info i can get my hands on... relatively new to performance engine with carbs idea... not looking for outright hp just clean responsive engine i can thrash all day and has that wicked inductions noise every enthusiast loves to here
  6. hey all... onto yet another good idea for ae71... 4age carb'd... idea was to have a gze bottom end for strength and reliability and then 20v head with quad motorbike carbs and trumpets... havent done much research into it so any information or opinions on the idea would be great... :)
  7. budget will be around the 5 grand mark just for the conversion...
  8. hey fair people of rolla club as my 1uzfe idea has been temporarily moved aside i am considering other avenues... so yeah just cause i like to be different and go anything but GE (even tho they are probably gods gift to man) I'm thinking about a fully rebuilt and worked N/A 4ac or a rebuilt worked turbo 4ac... thoughts and opinions mandatory :)
  9. lol yeah I'm kinda getting the impression to go to other avenues of fun... diff already locked and did consider a turbo 4ac... so either maybe turbo 4ac or paradise racing built 4ac... gotta start a new topic for this shit
  10. well since it seems as tho most people seem to think the conversion will be lost in a drift car and with me not being a mega cashed up slider like josh... lol... so i suppose the idea is a bit lost now that a few have put in their opinions understeering unbalance drift car doesnt sound right to me...
  11. well yeah its purely to drift but it will be a registered road car just keeping the conversion out of the mouths of authorities lol :lolcry: i was intending to use the r154 gearbox... and then switchin the 70 diff for a F series and getting either air locker or 2 way for it... i understand that it will probably put out the weight balance and i want to correst that but 8 inches is alot... a shit load actually... undecided on what i will do to drop weight but diff will balance it out considerably... even if i finish it and realise it isnt well balanced ill be happy that the conversion is done and that i can sell it for considerable amount... but just lookin for exactly what everyone is giving good advice and questions i may not of thought of... and yeah picks of josh youngs car would be cool... cheers everyone
  12. well this may be so but I'm hoping to cut as much weight as possible from the front to keep the weight balance kinda good... i don't want it to be a drag car i want it to be a drift car but want an engine like this so i can do the conversion and not have to make any more power to slide 4th(I'm already going very fast just can't seem to turn the tyres in the dry... so doing this instead of throwing 4 grand at a turbo GE setup...
  13. the 1uzfe isnt that much heavier than a 4age and if i stayed ge i would go turbo so increasing weight there... but i wont be running any accessories on the 1uzfe so that will drop about 20 kg and planing to mount it as fair back without having to massive mod firewall...
  14. hey people just wanted some creative ideas or any info anyone had on this conversion... I'm set on doing it and will do it eventually just asking around for maybe some tips or preferably people hu have done this conversion like clearances and the like...
