  1. Can follow the building progress here, if there is any interrest : http://www.superturb...ad.php?tid=4390 Feel free to comment here :)
  2. Wow, forgot about this... Guess this will make the Ke slip the tires :) :)
  3. Thanks guys! :) yes, 5 cylinder motor :)
  4. A quick resume; Removed dash and made room for gearbox Coilovers with new calipers aside Welded the coils and mounted ae86 cambertops The rims engine with radiator an cooler enginebay layout BMW brakedisc redrilled to 4x114,3 And todays work Many more pics are here, in the photobucket album. If there is any interrest I can try update this more often :)
  5. The engine is originaly turbo, yes. OM605.960, but i will use Holset HY35 turbo, and om605 n/a pump tuned to 180cc fuel and external ALDA :) can do a larger update when I come home from hollyday :)
  6. Thanks :) as you see on the other pic I'm in the middle of the project now a days (acculy in Thailand for hollydays right now tough), and its getting really seriously rebuildt. Havent uppdatering this tread because I didnt think there was any interrest.. :)
  7. The new engine is a OM605 from Mercedes with a 5speed manual box :) will be tight ;) Yes, the car is parked on a plastic sheat, all Cars driving on the track must have that when standing in pit. New rules this year :)
  8. Now the winter is around the corner here in Norway, and that meens that its time to park the car in the workshop. Have a short videoclip from the other day :) not so bad for a 4K :) When I park it the fun begins. New engine is ready, and gearbox, and I will during the winter get that installed with a rollcage, fuelcell etc etc. Time to start the project :) It will be a budget build, so the goal for next season is to have a working car, and fix up build problems and issues when finding them :)
  9. Long time, no see, here are some photos from sunday when i tested it on the track :) Worked out really well, but way to litle power :P The turns impressed, and it cornered like a go-cart :) Getting ready for the swap, only needs a gearbox to the engine, and I will start making room :)
  10. It has a 4k engine, and it is auto rear diff with 4speed manual. But don't Think it will take ti much beating.. Picking up new engine tomorow :) will be installed in the winter time, så its ready Next spring :) big rebuild coming up :)
  11. Thanks both :) don't think I will replace the mirrors, saving up all the money to engine swap instead. How much can the rear axle handle? is it just shit and will break at once, or can I use it to testdrive new engine? :)
  12. Thanks guys! :) About time to add more pics here now I'm using the phone with a GPS speedometer because the small wheels makes the speedo show way to much. I have got info that the car is an auto that is rebuildt to manual, but still with the auto rear diff. and with theese wheels it have a mekanikal topspeed limit at 155kmH at the speedo, witch is 125kmH on GPS :P And look what i found in the barn, from my fathers earlyer days :D Will start the engine rebuild this summer, but it will take some time as I'm using the car as an daily in periods now :)
  13. Thanks :) love the stance myself, just want it a bit more down on the rear :) just to save up to a engineswap now. Is there any easy cheap tricks to get more power before the swap itself? can't Think of any, but if there is any way..? :)
  14. It is fully driveable in this hight also :) it was 15cm drop in front and 12cm drop at the rear. Will Get the rear adapters down so it gets ET-5, than i can Get it down 1 or 2cm more :) The police isnt happy about it, but the local police usually let it go if you not are breaking the law in other ways.. But there are also not local police that can take the plates if in the right mood.. Some more better pics
  15. And so it was Custom buildt coilovers all the way. pricetag, about 300USD :) The rear are a bit to much out, they are ET-15, ET-5 would have been better :)
  16. Long time since last time here now. Havent had time or money to do anything with the Ke70, but today I picked up some new wheels :) It is 8x14 and 9x14 with 175/50-14 on all 4. These are 4x100 and ET35, so I will be running wheeladapters to 4x100. There is also much more of 4x100 wheels to get than 4x114. I was out measuring the size of the adapters, and think about 50mm on the rear and 30mm on the front will be ok. What do you guys think? is front; 8x14 ET5 and rear; 9x14 ET-15 ok? :) Have some pics, neeeeeeds lowering! :)
  17. The Volvo 240 is a funny thing :) lowered, full rollcage, bucketseats, 6point seatbelts, fuelcell in the trunck and chevy 350 v8 that was buildt up on only brand new part, to handle 1300hp. It has been driven as N/A 400hp but now the engine is out to get twin turbo :)
  18. Thanks, your reply is very much appreciated :) I don't have any other wheels yet, just the steelies, but is looking for 8-9x14 and 8-9x15 ET about 0, if I have right? :) rear arches are not so good, so I have to do a job on them anyway :)
  19. Great! :y: Thanks ;) Will get it down closer to the summer, still winter here. I can try to get a video of the sound and maybe some snow driving :) and I have a plan of a custom coilovers setup, and if that work out as I hope I will share it with you, and you can get coilovers at a very low price :)
  20. Did fix the exhaust the other day, a good friend of mine have a own garage, where we have our cars :) Startet with remove the trailer copling (?) and welded up the new universal muffler. before: And the final result. nice to get the rear more clean, and got the muffler pointing a bit to the side :) The sound was not as loud as I was afraid it would be, it just got alot deeper, and ofcourse, a bit louder :) Sounds good, just a bit lack of performence :rolls: Anyone lowered Ke70 down 10cm or so on coilovers? Do I have to do something with the rear axle mounting with 10cm lowering, or can I just drop it down? :)
  21. Yes I think I will test it. Problably it will be loud ass he**, and must get something else, but time will show :) Have some more pics here now; Recaros  Really looking forward to get it lowered and get som wheels on it :) Will I meet any problems with lowering the rear? If i get it 15cm down, what else do i have to do? :hmm:
  22. Thanks for the tips :) but the only problem is that the Ke70 is extremly rare here in norway, and the parts price is high, when or if the parts are found. I have a plan on engine swap with the time, so can't buy expencive engine/driveline parts that wil be remowed later on :) Have anyone here swaped the rear exhaust silencer? I must fix mine, and was thinking of put on another one to Get a bit more sound. I have a universal muffler just laying, and was thinking of jusing that, but is afraid it will sound too much? :) It is of the cheap Kind, so maybe I should wait to I can aford a better one?
  23. Both Recaros are in place  Had to redo the brackets on the first seat to get the driver chair in center to the steering wheel, and passenger seat is ready. Really good seats to sit in! And what a great fun this car is on the snow! Only thing is the 4-speed, 2.gear is just a bit short, and 3.gear is just a bit long. Still is able to lay sideways on 3.gear doh ;) Have also taken out the rear seats :) Next project is to redo the exhaust because it have been done a really bad job on it, so its constantly banging the floor. And try to build some custom coilovers after that
  24. Your friend was lucky to have you as an best friend. Looking forward to following this build. Looks like we have the same vision for the car, so I think I can get inspiration from this build :y:
