and finally shes in wired up all working ,looks ok i guess,I'm not really that happy with it but it works and the boot closes and theres still a bit of space left in the boot ,so yeh thats pretty much that !!!!! any comments???? heres a few more shots of boot.....

sub mounted in box ............

box in all fitted mounted and yes then dam boot lid does close!!!

heres the cheap ass sub ,i ran out of money so had to settle with a 60 dollar 12" sub from boss audio ,hahaha never mind it still got bass, so here a shot..........

then i covered the box with a bit of material,big mistake!!!!! i tryed fitting the box after i had covered it in the material and ,dam it!!!!!! it doesnt fit!!!!!!!! :jealous: :D :hmm: :o just a bit bigger than i hoped ,the box just fitted into the boot with a little bit of room to move it into position,but when i went to close the boot it was no good too big!!! the problem was the boot hinge,so i removed the box again and instead of building a smaller box i did a bit of a doddgy mod to the box!!!!!, i had to cut a slot out of the box so the boot hinge would slot into place ,so thats what i did ,but i hated doing it!!!!!!!! cutting up the box i just built and was nicely covered ,then i had to hack it up!!!! wasnt happy about that at all,but ahh well got the slot cut and then filled the gap with more would glue and screws follwed by sealer around all the joints ,then back to the car fitted the box and this time ....... it fits!!!!!!!!!!!! :y: :y: :y: so procedded to frill holes into the boot floor and bolted that sucker down ,fitted the crapy cheap ass sub woofer and speaker grill, wired it up and all good it works ok, so a lesson for you all out there measure twice cut once!!!!!! heres a few shots .......

well as i talked about last week i wanted to put a sub in but wasnt sure how i was gona fitt it or set it up,well ive done it ,i decieded that i would just put a box in and see if it pisses me off????,well it was an interesting job ,ran into a bit off a problem but managed to get around it sort of,so heres the gesst of it, ok sub box ,well i just made a box out of mdf,it was sort of a rush job but it came out ok, i made a bit of a mistake on the measuring up, so anyway mdf box used glue and wood screws to hold it all together, that worked all well heres a shot.....

hay trent the paint work is all ppg refinishing products, custom blue pearl mix with 2 pak clear coat, cheers for the comments.

and with the fascia on ... all bolted in now and the light is wired up,i just have to wire a couple more wires and should all be go , :jealous:

heres where the gauge is going....... i removed the clock and tryed fitting the gauge straight in,but didnt fit so had to mod it a bit with a dremel ,just grinded out the plastic till the tacho fitted , then stuck the tacho in and wola beautiful its in ,only other thing i had to do was mod the dash board fasica thingy as the new gauges bezel stuck out a bit ,so a bit more choping and it all fits well...............

hay rola boy that gauge cluster is awsum!!! i might have to have a go at doing that myself!!!, anyway guys heres a bit of a update its not much just a couple of things ive been doing ..... first is as a said last week id give it a go and i did,i put a small 2 inch tacho in the place of the clock, it wasnt to hard just a little bittle of modification and fiddling and i got it in there fitting pretty nice,looks good ,heres a quick basic on how i did it...... ths pic is he cluster and the proposed new gauge,its tiny!!!! hahahha pitty about these picks to,i was doing it ar night and my camera isnt the best...........

hmmm yes i think it could get quite involved specialy if it needs an engineers aproval and the likes ,anyway it was just an idea i was just curious to see if anyone had gone this far????cheers for the input . evilbetty

hay there just a quick question for some one who might have seen this done or know how to do it, i want to put a sub in a box in the boot of my ke55 but i don't want to lose the acess to the spare tyre,does any one know of any one cuting the spare tyre well out and replacing it with a flat panel then fitting the spare tyre under the car rather than in the boot,just an idea i had ???????

hay thanks guys for the great remarks ,much apreciated, I'm pretty busy this week but will definatley post up a few more things the following week end i got a few things that i want to do ie: build a sub box and mount it somewhere, that one has got me stumped at the moment because i still want acess to the spare wheel and tools but also don't want a huge box taking up my hole boot so will be doing a lot of thinking on that one, another thing is removing the clock from the dash and replacing it with a 2 inch tacho,also this could prove to be a pain but should be possible???? any one done that be fore?????

yes that could work too hmmmm i think ill be pushing it to fit extra stuff in there once i gett a sub box in ,i know i can push a little of the sub box into the 1/4 but its still going to be a big box :cool: i guess its a wait and see what i can come up with the box shape has got me a little stumped ,i don't want a square box taking up more room than it has too,got any ideas on a box design????

doh!!!yes your right i didnt think of that ,dam spare wheel, well maybe you could modifiy the idea and put the cupboards a few inches higher than the boot floor giving a bit of clearance to get the wheel out?????? dunno it was only an idea,

hahahha well no this car isnt supose to be a project it is only supose to be a daily driver ,but the more little things i do the more i get into it!!! hahaha ive had heaps of cars before the last was a rx7 s2 which i completly rebuild to the extreme it was a nice car but took 2 years of my time,i did not want this car to take that kind of time from me thats why i said it is just a general tidy up,a 2 year build id call that a project!!

heres a quick scribble i done for a basic idea of what i just said before about haveing a storage cupboard in front of the fuel tank this wouldnt be to hard to build but you would lose id say about 5 or 6 inches of boot space,luckly its at the back so you wouldnt really notice it to much ,would also keep things nice and tidy,you could also do some thing like this on your floor as well??????dunno just an idea ,since i have used up one of my 1/4 panel space ive now got a tyre iron bar and jack that i can put any where so this could be a good way to keep them on board but out of sight,hmmmm may lookin to it a bit more this week?????
