  1. Ahh yeah the rubber ones are ugly as ʞ©$ɟ. Although I never understood why these were such an unpopular Celica when they can look this sexy.
  2. Shit I forgot about this thread, Just got emails saying there was replies. I broke up with this chick because she cheat on me for the 3rd time , She still didn't have a job and still didn't have her license. That was about 2 and a half years ago, I'm now married to my lovely wife Saskia. Now as for the Rolla... Unfortunately after I broke up with that bitch I found this in a wrecking yard 6 weeks later, So she obviously got rid of it for about $150, She still couldn't drive either. It's a bummer really I did a lot of work to this thing, I even bought a 4AGE to chuck in it. I kept that luckily. As for my RA40's, I got rid of my liftback and bought this coupe as my Daily: I bought it looking like this, First thing I did was put NooB plates on it. You can see the Rolla in this picture. Over the last few years I rebuilt the RG in it and now it looks very different to when I bought it. I've fit heaps of GT parts to this thing... I have it at All Japan Day every year. I've also got a yellow series A liftback that is 1GGTE powered as a project and also an MA45 Supra. But hey this isn't a Celica club so I'll stop posting and updating my Celica's :P Haha
  3. Okay sorry for late update... I didn't get to do much sunday due to selling my Chrysler Valiant and buying another RA40 Celica =D But I'll update what I've done so far. Cleaned up the ass end a bit. Mind how dirty it is, I drove it to work today. Rust repairs in progress =P My first time using Fibre glass based filler, Hard shit to use. Wheels cleaned up a bit. The tires don't do it any justice, I'll have to tire shine them. That's all so far.
  4. Okay rust repairs have commenced a bit later then expected but looking good so far! I'll get pictures ASAP. Also been painting all the black trim slowely, looking great, I'll be installing fender mirrors on sunday hopefully. There will be pictures sunday night =P Also my Celica died so I will be driving this beast for now. I have noticed from driving it a bit more that there is a fair bit of lag when accelerating..? It's different to hesitation I've come across with other carbies so I'm a little confused, What could it be?
  5. Actually, I'm doing it tomorrow, Day off from work =P I'm getting aluminium fly screen, bog and primer. I'll get colour matched paint later one.
  6. Thanks Hiro Protagonist. By the way they look the exact same as the fender mirrors I bought =P haha. If only I could find doors like that to make it look as clean as the RA40... Ahh well, I was going to just weld a plate over the top of the hole and paint it the same black as the rest of the cars trim. I've managed to talk Amber out of the fender flares and save it for another car later on, She's impatient. I'll paint her stock wheels and if she hates it she can buy other wheels... I don't get laughed at in the Celica at all... I've had people comment and say nice things about the fender mirrors. Is my Celica sticker bombed and on 20's? No. A few stickers and on stock wheels. We both hate sticker bombing and ridiculous sized rims, So you won't be seeing this car with any of that at all -___-
  7. Lol. I won't go too over the top... Looking at the body kits available, they are all too extreme. But in the end it's what Amber wants, It's her car. She wants it low and fat, She took this Celica as inspiration: http://www.ziptied.com/forums/index.php?topic=36619.0 She wants flares for her car and wheels that stick out miles... I love this Celica, I wanna do a similar thing with my RA40. I told her to wait until she has a car worth doing it too and I was in the dog house for 2 days =(
  8. Yeah, was all plug and play, made life easier =P
  9. Me and Amber took a trip to U-pull-it today. We went to get a battery bracket for the BLAT because the battery was held in with cable ties... We ended up grabbing a digital clock and a tacho out of another Seca that was there, She installed them by herself =P I'm very proud of her. No more shitty analog clock and lack of tacho. She did good =P It's nice knowing where the redline is now too.
  10. Cheers for that, They are pretty inspirational even if some aren't Seca's. I know what you mean by that, I had thought of keeping the stock body kit and just getting some nice wheels and lowering it. I'll work something out. Thanks dude =)
  11. Saying that though, Whenever I get pulled over in the Celica they don't mind the rust.
  12. Cheers mate, If there is interest I'll update here =) If not I'm on Toymods under the same name.
  13. Well I've had a think about it, We'll band-aid fix the rust and repaint it. If she loves the BLAT I'll hunt down a nicer one then sell her daily =) Done. hehe
  14. I don't know if it's worth it yet, I'll have to wait until she's driven it for maybe 6 months, if she wants a project we'll fetch her a better one with a 4AGE in it =P If not she might want a KE70 or AE86 (I hope she gets one!).
  15. The Celica isn't lowered, Thats on the RA40's to do list =P So basically there is no way to lower it but still have comfort? Just looks funny that high off the ground =/ I thought maybe a body kit to give it that 'Low' look but most are really over the top or ugly, They get bloody pricey too! Might be lucky enough to come across a good looking second hand one.
  16. I did think of just grinding, rust converter, bog then painting it the original colour again, But a proper removal of the metal and welding in new material I don't think I'll do... To much effort for her first car. If she intends on keeping it as a project later on then I will do it properly, till then I don't see the point. I'll do a band-aid fix to keep the cops off of her back though. She wanted tinted tail lights, I said no =P Tinted tail lights plus rust equals defect... Also I won't be putting a cannon on for the same reason, Just a nice tip. I got it for $800, It was the only AE82 in SA within Ambers budget so I sussed it out. The engine is awesome though, wicked condition. After I serviced it, it feels like new. Interior is great too, Only one small crack in the dash. The steering wheel is buggered though, so a trip to U-pull-it is needed. Only major issue on the car is the rust. I would have rathered buy her a rusty but reliable car over a great looking vehicle with a shit donk, Her budget was only $800 so this was right on the dot. Question though, How low can you get these cars? It sits really high and the only springs I can find lower it by 30mm. We wouldn't mind it being maybe 60 or 70mm lower. Any method to go about doing this without cutting coils? not a fan of that...
  17. Maybe... Theres a lot. It's a daily so I can't do too much that will impair it's usability, Fixing rust takes a bit to do I figured. Correct me if I'm wrong, I havn't done rust repairs before. Wheel arches will be okay but the roof will be a bitch to do won't it?
  18. I decided to buy my Girlfriend, Amber, a car. She had always talked about her dad owning an AE82 Corolla Seca when she was little that he called the BLAT. I thought it would be nice to get her a Corolla the same model as the BLAT she loved so much... I found this one on gumtree, It was located in Mt.Bryan. Me and my brother went for a cruise down there in the Celica, It was a lovely drive =P Anywho, When we arrived we checked it out and made sure it was a good runner. Started up great, no knocks or noises, Went into gears more smoothly then my Celica. Sounds awesome for a little 4AC. We had also never seen that colour on an AE82 Seca. Got it home and serviced it. New oil, Oil filter, Air filter, Fuel filter, New spark plugs, New dizzy lead, New dizzy cap, New dizzy rotor, New timing belt. She runs really well, I'm very impressed. It goes better then my Celica, It's a very quick little car! Heres some pictures. Mind the Dirty RA40, The roads to work give it a hard time and I havn't had a chance to wash her, It's pretty rusty but Amber doesn't mind. Missing Mirror. PLANS Serviced most of it, Still needs new brake pads but other then that she runs very well. Fender mirrors, Amber wants some so I'll have to delete the originals. Lowering, We hate how high it sits. Touch up the rims, Touch up the black trim, bumpers and grill. Remove pin-striping. Better exhaust tip, or maybe cannon! =D More but I can't think... Will update when I remember.
  19. Seems like a few people don't have faith in what I'm capable of =P Did you see how my RA40 started out!? Looked like crap, Haha.
  20. Ahh, Is the wheel base of an AE86 much different to an AE82? They share the same chassis code?
  21. Nice AE82 dude, A lot of inspiration for my girlfriend =P She loves it. She want's to keep the baby blue colour on hers though so I'll have to try touch it up for her. How did you go about making that 'Bunnings Lip'? Looks pretty good, I might have to do that if you don't mind.
  22. Yeah, like the Ssanyong (I think it's spelt) and the Great walls. They are all getting uglier because every method of making a car beautiful has been done, They are trying the opposite =P Oh, I thought it had just been chopped and dropped... A lot... The extent people go to modifying cars is crazy so I figured it was just one of those occasions. Well I serviced it today, Oil filter, Air filter, Fuel filter and a fresh lot of oil. Tomorrow I'm getting spark plugs, dizzy leads, dizzy cap, dizzy rotor and a few meters of vacuum and fuel line. We should be taking pictures of it sometime soon too. Also I found some side skirts for it that I might be getting if the guy can ship them over here, He's never done it before so he's going to try his hardest.
  23. Holy shit, I love that body kit! That ones not over the top like the others I've seen. Any Idea where to get it or was it a custom made kit? Those wheels look awesome too.
