  1. Hey guys just wondering how you've run vacume lines using twin dcoe's on a redline manifold. Is it ok to tee into the one connection on the manifold for brake booster, dizzy and rocker cover? Or do I have to tap a new one into the manifolds flange?
  2. I'm about to do xt130 strut, ra40 discs with mx62 cressida calipers.
  3. It's a 7kc. Would it be to do with all the emissions crap in the original carb?
  4. I'm using the 7k thermast housing but what's this hose I'm pointing at? do I blank it off? tomorrow I'm having a crack at rebuilding the twin 40 dcoe webers I just picked up. does main jets 138, air jets 190, emulsion f64-f47, idle jets 59f21, pump jets 35 sound like a good starting point? The carbs came off a 22r so I reckon the jets in it at the moment will be to big. They've got 33mm chokes. hydraulic clutch is just about done
  5. whats that about the water inlet Rolou? Is that just slotting the holes on the inlet housing? your not wrong with the sump being a pain in the arse, i took a template of the 3k sump and took It to work but took a couple of tries. I fabbed new gear box mounts to hold those extra kgs today. I know it's overkill but I'm going a w5#. I picked it up for less than I sold my k50 for. Next jobs hydraulic clutch(got a master cylinder from a 40 series cruiser), cut and shut extractors, and tail shaft
  6. well i got her in this morning! It fit in using the 3k mounts but just sits 5mm high on the engine mount bolts but should be ok.
  7. Will the auto shaft be good for length? I've got the tail shaft that came with the box and was hoping to just split uni's and switch ends and use the shaft out of mine. Mine was k50 box now w57.
  8. Is the 3k starter and alternator interchangeable with the 7k? Also does anyone make a manifold for twin down draft webbers or do i have to make my own?
  9. I couldnt pm you came up with an "array" error.
  10. Yeah thanks for the info. I havent even seen the gearbox yet but Hopefully it is a w55 so it bolts straight up without having to scrounge another bellhousing. He seems to think its a supra box
  11. all good mate! i'll be wrapped if it all falls into place like this. I was going to do 4age but this seams to be a hell of a lot cheaper and easier (in theory).
  12. just did a few hours research and I'm pretty sure my mate's celica box is a w5# as it was bolted to a 308. I should be right if I get onto old mate and grab the bellhousing off the townace. here's a bit I cut and pasted 7K[edit] The 1.8 L (1,781 cc) 7K was first introduced in 1983. Cylinder bore was 80.5 mm (3.17 in) and stroke was 87.5 mm (3.44 in). Output was 80 hp (60 kW) at 4600 RPM and 103 lb·ft (139 N·m) at 2800 Was available with a 5 speed manual & 4 speed automatic transmission. Available in both fuel injected and carburetted configurations, the 7K produces much more power and torque compared to the other K engines however it is a lot less 'rev happy' due to having such a large stroke. 7K is available in KR42 Townace SBV vans (1997–2007) using a large G52 5 speed gearbox (Same bellhousing to box pattern as W55), or automatic.
  13. hey there just a quick couple of questions. I've got a ke35 just running the 3k at the moment and I've just found a reco'd (40k ago) 7k for $1100 that i'm goin to grab The ke35 has a 5 speed in it already but is it going to be strong enough? i can get an early celica box off a mate for $100, will that bolt straight up? also just use the 3k engine mounts? I've just sourced all my brake upgrade parts xt130 struts, ra60 discs and mx62 calipers so getting excited!
  14. Just picked this old girl up about a week ago. She's only running a 3k with a 5 speed but it purs along and was rebuilt about 50k ago so will do for now. I bought her for a cheap run about as my other vehicle is a fj45 with a 350 and is thursty. Its pretty tidy with still original paint with only a few small rust spots. I only had it a day and a bloke pulled up at the lights next to me and asked me if i wanted to sell it! She does want new struts so if you hear of any.........
