  1. Hello! Still having difficulties with the headlamps! Left side is good, but just can't get the right side fit. If someone could help me with this that would be awesome! left side ready (lamp is straightened after this photo) right side wont fit because the lamp surrounding is hitting the chrome surroundings attachment pieces. Closer look: http://i1123.photobu...zps6nhublnf.jpg http://i1123.photobu...zpssis542zt.jpg I also changed a bigger carb from a 2 liter crown engine: http://i1123.photobu...zpsbyh4yw4m.jpg Oh man the car looks like its ready already in this photo: The front panel I don't have yet attached is almost ready for paint! The painter who painted this car sandblasted, straightened, welded, primered, putted this rubber kind of compound that helps with keeping rust and rock hits from destroying the part and will paint the part only for 100€ :) BTW sorry for the huge pics! I did resize them, but I forgot that 480x 360 is too big and the photbucket is so slow I don't want to resize them again :S E: I did resize pics to 480x360 but for some reason photobucket made them 800x600... E2: And now the photos are good again.. mysterious photbucket
  2. Thanks! Paint job cost 500€ including the final surfacer and wet sanding. I agree! Also wider wheels to rear. :) I am having some difficulties with fitting head lamps. should the base part connect straight to body or is there supposed to be washers? My lamp "base" goes only so deep that it leaves roughly 1 cm gap between body and itself.
  3. Little Red Rolla finally worth its name! ;) This is just a picture that the painter sent me. Haven't seen it yet.. Going to get it home next Friday i'm super excited!
  4. Thanks! I think I need to forget all the aftermarket carbies for a while as they are quite expensive. I've been trying to get the car running smooth with the stock aisan.. car runs quite well when hot but when cold it pops like it had a launchcontrol of those 1000hp huge turbo Supras.. It wont idle tought.. first I noticed that the idle mixture screw does nothing and the car idles so high rpm that its not using the idle circuit.. then when I tried to lower the idle from the other screw it first didn't do anything and then drop dead.. I tought at this point that the idle circuit has to be full of crap. It was and I cleaned it, atleast I think its clean now but still the same problem as before cleaning. What is the function of parts 47 and 60 in the carb? I know that this is not the exact same carb but the parts look same: http://www.pakwheels...xpvw28-copy.jpg Heres couple of piccies of the car atm just for your entertainment :P
  5. Hi! The car is hopefully going to the paint shop in May 7th!! :) I'll do a big update when I start to assemble the car for rego. Now to the question I have.. Is there some kind of carb that is larger than the original and fits the original manifold with no mods or with small adapter? I think I've heard of some downdraft Dellorto? And I also finished the brakes! Runs badly due to too small carb but stops well atleast!
  6. Hi! I'm trying to assemble my rear brakes but the springs from the assembly kit that I bought wont fit.. Could someone possibly send me a picture of the rear brakes, so I could see what kind of springs I should be looking for. :) Regards, Teemu
  7. Today (9.4) Was a good day. Perhaps my birthday and that I got my license had to do something with that ;) This day has gone cruising with my dads E60 8D But to the Corolla! As always I've been busy with school so the progress is slow but I see light at the end of the tunnel! I've now finished all the big body work except the drivers side door (read passengers side). The door is not far away from being ready as ive already made the new pieces of panel and tap welded them to place, I let someone more experienced weld them completely. I also sandblasted the actual door body and painted it. Beginning: Sandblasted, primered and painted: Fresh metal: I didn't want to butt weld them, so they overlap and I fix the shape with body filler This is where the door is now. I also bought set of Martelius extractors, had to modify them alot, but I made it fit! Also got some fresh falkens for my minilites.. problem is that the car has lots of positive camber :( And I need to lower the front a bit so they will look better. I do regret that I didn't buy the 7 inch wides with ET 0.. These wheels look bit regular. But as I don't have money to buy new wheels and tyres again, these will have to do :)
  8. Unfortunately no, it's very strict here.. But if I build the 3AGE I think I could get around 160-170hp from it without turbo. In that case they will ask me to get a dyno sheet from "official" dyno shop. Then I need to have megasquirt and spark to control fuel and ingition maps to get the power a lot lower. My text might be bit messy but I think you'll get the point, it's very easy to get big amounts of power if the displacement is right :)
  9. Thanks! I've followed your project since I found this forum :) It would be nice to come and see your Rally Rolla if I visit Norway next summer. I have some relatives living in Flora. The head is ported and the valves have this three-angle grinding. It might be lowered a bit, but I'm not sure about that. Exhaust and intake are stock, but they restrict power a lot. Reason why I wont buy new exhaust manifold and new carburettor is that they cost so much for so little power. I've been thinking of building this "3age" when this car is ready. In Finland the maximum upgrade of engine is 25% more to capacity and 20% more power in comparison to the biggest engine of the same model. Biggest engine of KE1x is 1.2l so it could be changed to 1.5l (3A) and then everything else than block from 4AGE and it would be legal! :P The power would propably go over limit, but you can restrict the engine a bit for the vehicle inspection. I'm not quite sure about the stem seal... If I remember right there is no seal on top of the retainer, but inside/under the spring.. I'm not sure about this thought!
  10. I'm just going to leave this here. Loving them :lovin:
  11. Thank you all for supporting! :) It's always nice to get a little comments and conversation. Same thing here in Finland, we don't have any 1966 model. So it's 1967. Well 17 if it makes a difference, but yes I've done almost everything myself. Just got help for couple of welds :P I have this 350mm plane shaped sanding tool. Havent really used anything else than that, small sanding block, hands and a bright lamp to see uneven spots. :) I actually finished the other front quarter last weekend. Only rear quarter to do, the other side is so close to finished that it doesn't count. It's getting bit stressful as I have lots of work from school and I can only build the car in the weekends. First snow came today so weather is not on my side anymore.. Would you like to have a little onboard driving video? -Teemu
  12. Hello everyone! I was thinking of doing one massive update, but I want to know do you like the shape of the flares? The guy who I asked for help did not show up so I did it myself. 1/4 completely done, all others are under work. propably going to get the other rear quarter ready this weekend. I've just been very busy with school... And great news! When I get my salary I will immediately buy genuine minilites 13x7 4x110  Don't be scared! That spray paint can is only as weight to keep that cover from falling to the fresh paint. Only good epoxy primer and proper spray gun used :) P.S. The amount of body filler is scary.. hope it wont be bad during winter times.
  13. Hello everyone! Just a quick question; Does all 3-K engines work with unleaded fuel or should I get some additive lead? -Cheers :)
  14. Thanks! :) Today i was bit lazy so I only removed the parking lights and opened them. Lots of restoring there! Does anyone know where I could possibly get Koito parts or old but good condition parking lights? I have also been hunting for the seal/weatherstrip for the little windows in doors, anyone seen any or have any tips for me to fix them?
  15. Hello! Have been doing some of the interior ready and it looks so good! http://i1123.photobu...zpspnrloxx6.jpg http://i1123.photobu...zpsfhwypfom.jpg http://i1123.photobu...zps8bgouvib.jpg Also I have done a clutch cable and some work on the brakes. Its just hard to find parts here :S I actually drove the car for the first time yesterday! 10 meters out of the garage but it was amazing feeling :) today i had to take carb and manifolds out to clean the carb and fix an air leak. Also have to fix oil leak from fuel pump and a water leak from the thermostat. A friend of mine who is painter/ someone who fixes dents (don't know the word :D) is going to come sand the body filler to right shapes as i can't get it good enough..
  16. Painted a part of the car today. Have to say I'm very happy about the quality I was able to make. Do you guys like the color, its the same color that the whole car is going to be (RAL 3003) I really like the color myself!
  17. Here it is! Sorry it took so long. And i know that the sound quality is poor.. but it was filmed with a phone :)
  18. Got her running :) It did not even need any fixing, I just dropped the engine in place --> attached required electrics --> gave it fuel and twisted the key. Heres a little video about it, hope it works fine (though it does have bad quality) (I'm going to add link soon, as photobucket is very slow atm and I need some sleep :P ) Heres some cam specs. http://i1123.photobu...zpstzhzakoc.jpg (Imu = intake, pako = exhaust, nosto = lift, asteet = degrees/duration) "Can't" wait to start welding the rust spots (read: whole backside of the car) as welding is definetly not my greatest strenght. Hopefuly in my next update it will be close to primering. Cheers, Teemu
  19. Hello there! Its been nice weather here in Finland except for yesterday and today. Because of that I have done big progress in my project. Painted front end with glossy black polyurethane paint. Even tought yesterday was a rainy day, it was propably one of the best in long time. And here is the reason: http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l558/zuzukipeevee/Mobile%20Uploads/20140504_112842_zps7jvpzhpu.jpg Having real difficulties whit the body filler :S I've done it before and getting that large area smooth is difficult.. Does anyone have any tips for me? Cheers, Teemu
  20. I have done some working on the car lately and really got a boost to building from warm weather and sun :) I already sandblasted the front of the car and painted it with some epoxy primer. Sanblasting http://i1123.photobu...zps0qc2rkrf.jpg http://i1123.photobu...zpszwsjjo9o.jpg Painting for the first time ever with a real paint spray (no spray paint can things) http://i1123.photobu...zpsck8wbleh.jpg http://i1123.photobu...zps5reinxao.jpg Remaining paint to the roof http://i1123.photobu...zpsgc2dauat.jpg Sandbalsting some more at next weekend after that I should start smoothing out the rear flares and start fabricating front ones. And my girlfriend promised to help by sanding the "indoors"? of the car so i can paint them. :)
  21. Some two component paint (Is it called that in english?) over the rust paints, might be getting sandblasting equipment next week if its not raining. http://i1123.photobu...zpshvhjvlhz.jpg http://i1123.photobu...zpsddpmh8bf.jpg http://i1123.photobu...zps48b0eoeh.jpg to do list at the moment: - sandblast some places - cover those spots with epoxy primer - some bogging or putting bondo or what ever it's called - Then thick layer of filler paint (I really am not sure about these english names) Then its good for a while. after that its just light sanding --> sanding paint (very light layer of paint that you sand ehit high grit paper) --> red coat over the car and we're ready for nice summer of assembling! :)
  22. So got the last layer of rust paint on, except to the rear as there is too much rust to paint on. Took some bad photos but hope they will do. It is dark in there and I took the photos with my phone. The rust paint on some rusty spots http://i1123.photobu...zps9rdbquuj.jpg http://i1123.photobu...zpsphmp6p7a.jpg Flares or whatever you call them :D Front ones have to bee fitted in and rear ones have to be taken of because there's rust under them. http://i1123.photobu...zpsangtfj2e.jpg http://i1123.photobu...zpsangtfj2e.jpg http://i1123.photobu...zpscbxoxuzv.jpg To the end just some random pictures of the car http://i1123.photobu...zpsnjrljdik.jpg http://i1123.photobu...zpsbjv2p88y.jpg http://i1123.photobu...zpswf1as8yf.jpg http://i1123.photobu...zpsrmv30fdo.jpg http://i1123.photobu...zps5gsydjz6.jpg http://i1123.photobu...zpstmhurk2v.jpg Thanks for reading! Trying to get the rear finished so I could start sandblasting it asap when the winter is over :)
  23. So I got my sway bar today. Has anyone took any pictures of their assembly? I'm not quite sure how it's supposed to be assembled to the car. And: E: thought about the assembly for a little time and got everything right ;) -Teemu
