  1. I'm in brizzy. I actually tried to sell these recently because I couldn't stand having them sitting around any longer but couldn't part with them, couldn't sell them either which was a bit of a motivator. Here's a couple of pics of the blue one before any of the major work. At this stage I had only swapped the front brakes and suspension. In the last couple of days I have been scraping mud out of all the hidden nooks and crannies and getting all the leaves and dirt out of heater/wiper motor passage behind the dash. The blue corolla has a different dash to the red one but so far I have been able to swap everything without too many troubles. I am hoping to finish the engine installation this weekend and will hopefully post some updated pictures then. I have a few spare parts left over now so if anyone is after anything in particular let me know.
  2. So 3 and a bit years down the road and this project is still ongoing. I had the red panelvan all finished and ready for the top coat of paint when during transport it rolled off the car trailer and through my bedroom wall. The next weekend I bought the blue ke36 off a granny and with the aim to build one good car out of the 2. After I did this alot of other things happened which took priority over the corollas. Finally I now have the time to do some work on them again. In the last 2 weeks I have swapped engines, transmissions, diffs, tailshafts, fuel tanks, fuel systems, interiors, wiring looms, dashes, doors, guards and converted the blue one to a hydraulic clutch. I have some more wiring work to finish up then I will start on the bodywork. It's probably a good thing the red corolla got smashed because 3 years later, ALOT of rust has come through underneath the new primer and paint. I am thinking an orange paint job at the moment but i'm sure I will change my mind another ten times before I actually spray any paint. I can't wait to get the car running but I have a feeling I am goin to have some electrical problems as the car has been sitting for 2 years...
  3. I'm having trouble fitting a grille because the top intercooler pipe is hitting it. Does anyone have any ideas on what model grille would be easiest to modify to give it clearance? It is hitting on the honeycomb part. Cheers, Matt
  4. Here's a few progress pics of the rolla. The rear drums on the 9" have been redrilled to 4 stud and the axles shortened and resplined. The old stud holes in the axles were welded up by the looks of it and new holes drilled in the 4 stud pattern. I haven't had it on a dyno yet because I actually want to drive it first. I haven't even driven it round the block yet :D The guy I bought it off took me for a quick drive in it though and it scared the bejeezus outta me, which is why i bought it. The last pic is how it used to look. My aim is to get it looking something like that again, except probably with stocko wheels and a venetian blind to try and avoid looks from the poolice. Sorry about the quality of the photos as they're off my phone. JiP i've sent you a pm about that apron. Cheers, Matt
  5. G'day everyone, This is my new project. It's a 78 ke36 panel van. It's got a 3tgte under the hood, a celica 5 speed, and a spooled 9" diff in the rear. So far i have replaced the front suspension with KYB shocks and KING springs. I am replacing the front guards, bonnet and grille with new taiwanese items (unless anyone has any good secondhand stuff for sale ;) ). I'm also taking out the spool and converting back to LSD for street use and so I can get the thing registered. It will be wearing a fresh coat of bright red paint soon too. If anyone in Brisbane has a front left guard, rear bumper, honeycomb style grille or the panel that goes under the bumper and joins the guards for one of these please let me know as i've found it hard to track down second hand stuff so far. So watch this space as i get the car into a respectable state and get it back on the road where it should be. Peace, Matt
