Just a little note. The rear extension housings can be swapped between the KE70 and KE55 5 speed gearboxes to change the shifter position. I did exactly this in using an AE70 gearbox with a KE55 extension housing to move the shifter further forward.

Hi Sebastian. The K50 gearbox that this article refers to is found in the AE70 and AE85 corolla. It came behind an A series engine and uses a cable clutch. It looks very much the same as the KE70 K50 but has bellhousing for the A series engine.
