  1. Motorkhana did have a 'less than perfect' turn out. However, I'm sure those that entered had fun and definitely got their moneys worth!
  2. No, since the cruise is free. ;) And for show entries "late fees will be waved"
  3. Yes, the cruise is TONIGHT! Super Cruise All cars entering the super cruise must gather at the surf life saver car park on the junction of Burbridge Road and Seaview Roads between 6:00 till 7:30 We will be taking entries at the start point and late fees will be waved. It's approx ~150KM and friggin awesome roads. The entrant info has more details about the cruise and other events; http://toyoshow.com/2011/ToyoShow%202011%20Entrant%20Advice.pdf See you there! :D

  10. In fact we've been trying to get this show sorted for over a year, and also the reason the 2009 show was missed/skipped with lots of date changes. I do *sort of* agree with a lot of your post however. Seeing as your view is a entrant view, I can understand why it might seem that way - which all boils down to not being publicized enough. The show dates were locked in during October, but if the entrants don't know that then it doesn't help anyone. Trying to pick a date for the show is always a bugger, we've only got the available dates, then there is always something on! Like I said, we are taking all suggestions and comments on board to try improve the show for the future. Any assistance with the show is also welcome.
  11. Chobis - While you've take a lot of stabs on how to improve the show, it's easier said than done. I put my heart and soul into this show every year and people replying saying that no effort went in till the last minute just gets me fired up. I assure you the sponsors don't approach us, the webpage does not make itself, the insurance wasn't sent to me via email and Wigley and Boostworx aren't available everyday of the year for my choosing, etc etc etc... Anyhow, thanks for the good feedback guys! We do listen and try to change with the suggestions. Every year is a learning process for us, I'm no marketing guru, nor do any of us do this full time. So while we want the show to be as good as possible, remember that we have lives, the show doesnt make money so it's not like we can spend on advertising and putting a show on is a HUGE amount of work. We will try to promote the show more next year, I think the judging worked a lot better and we'll keep working towards getting the format better. One of the major things for me is to drop the dyno day in exchange for a motorkhana and take if away from a 'Show and shine' with some other events to a proper Toyota weekend. Anyone that really wants to help is always welcome. :P Roll on ToyoShow 2011. You can keep up to date with us via facebook: http://www.facebook.com/ToyoShow
  12. ToyotaCarClub.net SA based. CAMs affiliated.
  13. I'm happy to let any Toyota part traders into ToyoShow for free. (Can not include any new parts, due to conflict with sponsors.) Just PM me with details of what you have.
  14. Sorry for the lack of news on these forums. Please visit ToyoShow.com and sign up to the mailing list for all the latest news on the show. Also; ToyoShow is now on facebook : http://www.facebook.com/pages/ToyoShow/61582576537 ToyoShow 2009 event : http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=61976237461 The show is set for September 25, 26 and 27th. No motorkhana due to the date. :y: Other addition is the awards dinner... no more waiting around in the sun :bash:
  15. Hi guys, just wanted to give you a heads up that we've done a lot of thinking and evaluating with the show, and we've decided to make some changes to the show (for the better we hope!) All the changes have been posted at ToyoShow.com for convenience sake http://forum.toyoshow.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=12 Please post up or PM me your thoughts - Brian Slater www.toyoshow.com
  16. Hello everyone, Small updates; There will be a tips sheet posted on the site very soon, which will give some small pointers for new entrants to understand the SMASA scoring (which is the same as Summer Nats, so handy to know :fuzz:) We are estimating over 100 entrants this year There is a sound off competition - highest db from 1m There is a new big shiny ToyoChamp trophy; which previous winners will be engraved onto also We encourage everyone to jump on the dyno, and remember that you need to have run the dyno to be eligible for ToyoChamp - this year, that will also need to include sound off, but everyone at the show and shine can have a shot at the sound off for free! The cruise has been shortened, regarding after some input regarding last years cruise The categories for judging will not be changing between now and the show On a side note I think the best club trophy will be a hard fought battle this year, it seems most clubs are planning displays to get that award! I look forward to seeing everyone at the show, and if anyone has any queries please email me directly, Brian Slater brian (at) turbo-a.net www.toyoshow.com 0424 299 869 < This number is turned off during work hours.
  17. The category shall be in next year as a 25+ years. I'd suggest next year get your entry in a month or so before, that way we know how many people in those categories.
  18. Brian here, organizer of the show. The judging was independant of ToyoShow committee and ToyotaCarClub.net members. We didnt get a say, they are professional judges. PHNTOM most likely would have won if he'd had the hood open for judging, but didnt and scored 0 for engine bay. That said, not only did Lesley do the cruise, but the whole cruise (no extra points, just more fun). The car was very clean, inside and out - goes to show a good clean helps. I personally saw spider webs on the bottom of some of the really nice Supras. Big congrats from myself, a well deserved win. For those upset with the outcome, you can pm me through toyotacarclub.net or come along to our meeting (very soon) about how to score better in the show and shine; one of the judges has offered to help out and give you some pointers.
