  3. I was kinda thinking of doing a 55 driveline conversion as i have an old one sitting round thats beckoning to be parted. Diff, leafs and struts go straight in? Anyways an update on progress....I went a little crazy on stripping it down today...started at 4 pm just for something to do, next thing i know its 9.30 and its almost fully stripped lol. I was quite impressed with the lack of cancer (although I haven't taken the paint off yet) the only bits I could find were in the rear window surrounds (right side mainly), around the top of the boot...right side again and in the bottom of the boot on the right rear....i am sensing a pattern here, why only on the right hand side? Does anyone know what the reasoning behind that little garnishy piece below the taillights of 20's are for? Aaaaaand...does anyone know how to safely remove the chrome stripping off the roof guttering? Here are a few happy snaps:
  4. LOL i was toying with the idea of flat black....easy to hide blemishes but then i wiegh up the pros of a nice paint job and it pwns flat black (no offence) man if it was 11pm i'd be down the shed stripping it now....keen as mustard lol

  7. Cheers for the comments, Probably just lower it a touch...toying with the idea on 14" standards/hubcaps/whitewalls, a mate has a set of 15" dragway pro's too so i wouldnt mind chucking those on. Thinking of painting her the new hilux dark metallic blue. Interior desperately needs work though as you can see form the pic. And as my name suggest's a nice lumpy 4K / 5 speed conversion. (once i get My link sorted out.)
  8. Hey all, I though I would share a few pics of my new KE20 I have recently picked up ready for a resto project. Still tossing around ideas on what i am going to do but I will keep you all posted.
  9. Hey guys, I'm just about to go pick up my new KE20 that i scored. I am wanting to transplant the engine/5spd tranny out of my old KE55 into it which will hopefully be pretty straight forward...unless someone can tell me otherwise. Anyways my problem is this.... my ke55 has been off the road for about 10 yrs (will require a rebuild i know) when last driven, or attempted, she was backfiring and shooting flames out of the carby. I have spoken to a few people and have had numerous responses as to what the problem may be, these include...bend push-rod, cam timing out, ignition timing etc etc The engine specs are as follows...(by memory) 80/40 reground cam ported and polished head shaved 20 thou block shaved 40 though and bored 60thou over flat-top pistons with chrome-moly rings oversized stainless valves with double springs custom manifold to suit a 45mm webber of an XF falcon maybe a few more mods but can't think of them at this stage. The engine was running sweet and used to eat alot of cars. By memory the last time the car ran fine was when I was driving home from work in a foul mood and i may have valve bounced at around 9000 rpm. the next moring was when i discovered the problem. I took the tappet cover off and all vlaves where moving, I advanced and retarted the dizzy near on 180 degrees in 1 degree intervals to no evail. Anyways any insight would be greatly appreciated, also any hints on the 4K/5spd conversion. Much love, Lumpy_4K
