Is that 1grand for an whole exhaust with headers? Otherwise, HKS ones on yahoo japan were about 700, RS*R ones i can get someone to get from Japan for $500. OBX ones from US are US$180, but are shithouse stuff.
But could do with some cams down the track, 256 inlet, 264 exhaust is what i'm planning. As with those, i can run the standard ECU.
Aftermarket ECUs are soo much these days, could spend the $1799 to do the head!
how much for the flywheel and springs. PM me a price range so i can get an idea. Don't want too light of a flywheel, so around 4-6kg would be ideal.
And no pics of the FX yet, you'll just have to wait.

But on a serious note, can't find anywhere to get 16v headers/extractors. One on Ebay but Not gonna fork out 1400 for a set that wont suit an ae92.
i've searched: toymods, ae86dc, tocau, twincam, here, ebay, trademe, NOTHING comes up. Might just have to ring HKS Aus and see if they can source one out.

i pulled the head off that 4agze i got that i thaught was f@$ked, and its really only 2 exhaust valves suck slightly open
took it into JnL crackshafts there recoing it, i said f@$k it can you rehoan, clean-balance, new pistonrig, and bareing my block well sooo its pretty mutch gonna be a fresh engine
with 18psi here comes 170rwkw's

Yeah, soo want to get those coilovers now but bit short on cash (just payed for my swaybars! :/) so hoping he'll hold them til next week...
Can i change the spring rates in coilovers, anyone know??

ETA for the FX-GT is: 23rd of March. Keeps getting pushed back :cool: Got a call today from adelaide saying it'll be a week there for compliance.
Also have on order front and rear swaybars. Coilovers went up in price so won't be getting any now wallbash.gif but means i can get get some shock+springs which will be cheaper anyways.
Also bought some rims, but they're just replacing the stock SX wheels, dunno why i bought them, but i did. You'll all see it when i put them on the car.
Is anyone willing to help me out installing the bars and the bushes? I'm thinking it'll be one heck of a job, and was going to just take it to L&S, but will probably have too anyway, since some are harder to fit than others.
Anyone else thinking about entering shannon's this year?

If you're only getting 256/8.1 exhaust and 264/8.0 intake cams, then why are you bothing with porting and polishing? And if you're not fitting big valves (which you didn't mention and you won't need with cams so mild), then why get the 5-angle valve job? Don't forget the stock bigport cams are 240-degree, 7.32mm lift. I was looking at 276/288 degree cams for the 4A-GZE. For a 4A-GE with reasonable power (eg 170+hp at the flywheel), and to optimise the other mods you've mentioned (or to even make them worthwhile), you need to be thinking 270+ degree duration, and lift of 9.0mm.
Oks, so i might not worry about the port and polish thing, as i think they're more to do with the bottom-end.
As with the cams, i'm working on drivability and not on the power output. As with these cams, they are able to run on a the factory ECU (as i have read). These cams if advanced a bit will idle normally and might give me more low to mid-end power, but a slight loss in the top-end. I am of course still reading on this topic and reading other peoples modifications as well.
I won't try to argue with you Adam, as you are a much bigger person when it comes down to car stuff than i am, so forgive me if i might be wrong. I am still learning. :/
I was only aiming at 150hp with the current setup, but if i did go with those mods, maybe adding an ECU will help the engine alot.

8k is so redlining it....Stock is approx 6,600rpm-7,000rpm. I think it is anyway....

This post started so well (spare engine block needed, suspension bushes on order) and turned to shit before resorting to lies.
Daven, if you're building a hot 4A-GE, you don't need ICE!!! You just need to listen to that sweet revving little beastie and you're all set!!!
As taking the car to track days - excellent idea! Don't put ICE in, as it only adds weight, and means that you can't use this sweet car to it's full potential!
What lies? i WILL be putting ICE no matter what you say Adam, :yes: It'll add weight but who keeps their subs in while at the drags or on the track?
That is a LOT of money to bomb on a car... regardless of its creed. Just get the stock FX and enjoy it Daven. 4AGE + extractors and exhaust will be more than enough to keep you amused for a while I reckon.Ahhhh, some closure...thanks Danno, really, in all seriousness.
With that kind of estimate, might just turn into a daily and see what i want to do after that, LOL after all that typing.

hahaha, thanks Adam, but remember, ICE i can do, but engine work, no one does it here. It'll be hard to explain to my parents that i can't drive my new car, because it doesn't have an engine in it, which is in VIC, getting some modifications.
Unless you know people with equipment to do my head work, shave, port and polish, fit the .6mm head gasket, my 256/8.1 ex, 264/8.0 inlet custom cams, my adjustable cam gears, do a 5-angel valve job, install the new valve springs, install the 4-2-1 hks copy extractors, 2.25" straight thru exhaust system, the 5kg flywheel, the heavy duty clutch, fit my bush kit, install the coilovers, and a bit of guard rolling to fit the 15x7 rewinds with r888s semi-slicks....phew...be sure to let me know...
Now i'm off to research, con-rods, pistons, block, and a good ECU, as i pretty much covered what i want from the head. LOL

onto good news now, rolla is sold!!!! about time too, price was ok, got something back for it anyway, so that'll happen next week, plus, have to re-fax through my application to the imports people down in Canberra because i was missing some documents. And then when i get approved, it shall be on its way!! Hopefully by the end of the month, fingers crossed! I can't wait!! :) :P

Matthew - my bowling compadre. He buys all of his - don't think he's got any in computer form. He's a tad obsessive about collecting series' - for instance he's got multiple copies of the Transformers movie, because it came in different versions. And I think he's got a fair bit of Dragonball Z twice. LOL.

got a reply back, the guy wants $820 delivered to Darwin, for his Rewinds, but i'll see how much they are at ozzy, and spend the extra on some good tyres.
