  1. Cannot wait to see this thing going!

Haha agree with your points mate, do it all the time!

Figure out why the intercooler let go? Would've been an interesting sight watching it remove itself.

  2. Yeah I'd honestly be happy with either high spec Holden seats or HSV spec. Whichever I come across first for a good price.

I'd thought about the level three but I decided it was a bit too much mucking around and simply wanted to get a working cluster in the car. Settled for the one I got and can't complain wink.gif

    The comparison..

VT: Less cabin noise, less road noise, less rear vision. In terms of handling, the VT felt solid at all times, didn't feel like it was a 1550kg car through corners or under brakes. Acceleration was smooth, nearly lackluster due to the weight. Interior was well designed and seriously comfortable. Overall, for a family targeted car, I would rate it fantastic. Little excessive om fuel but wasn't bad if you weren't a road warrior.

VS: Louder, less refined, a bit more responsive, lower quality interior but wasn't bad. More cabin noise, more steering response (possibly because it has no p/s leaks in my vs), slightly better economy. Can't comment on the handling, even with lowered springs and shock combo, still corners like a big car. Much more 'fun' to drive. I find the VS a tad slower when you put the foot down for reaction, but once it gets into action it'd eat the VT alive so long as it maintained traction (somewhat poetic). Less blind spots (even the vs sedans are better than the vt at this). May also just be a ute thing, but the weight distribution is terrible in the sense that you have to corner a bit slower or it feels like the front will make it but the rear just won't corner how it should.

If I was to pick one for fun, the VS. For a comfy daily driver i'd go anywhere in, the VT. That said, the ute isn't bad for cruising. I'm not a fan of how high a temp the early VS commodores would run before the thermo kicks in.. 3/4 on the gauge before the thermo kicks in, but my mechanic and my radiator specialist both checked it and said it was operating the way it should be.

  3. Yeah I'm on the hunt for either SS seats or some HSV ones. Initially wanted VT seats but too much mucking around to have them engineered (I'm not one for voiding insurance/being defected).

The ones you have in that picture would be absolutely perfect!

It'd be nice not to have the seat jerk around while I'm driving lol

  4. Changed the instrument cluster to a standard one today, so much better.

Also gave the car a really good hand wash. Going to get some new polish tomorrow and see how it goes. Fingers crossed I can shine up all the dull paint!

Going to attack the interior for cleanliness tomorrow as well. Considering ripping out the seats and vacuuming the entire cabin, then washing the rear firewall and measuring it up for carpeting.

Hopefully the car will turn out nice and neat yes.gif

  5. WMMH: Leaving this boring as ʞ©$ɟ uni course that I was going nowhere with and within the next week signing up with the AIF (Australian Institute of Fitness) to complete the Master Trainer program, then onto VU for my Diploma of Fitness then to complete my Bachelor of Exercise Science.

Happiest I've been in possibly twelve months smile.gifyes.gifyes.gifyes.gifyes.gifyes.gif

  6. Been playing funny buggers last few days. Decides to just hold 3 grand, almost as if something in the exhaust is ʞ©$ɟed.. It's not a droney noise, more like a baffle around 3g that really doesn't allow the motor to go any harder. Sure, at those rpm torque is high but I'd really like it to go a little better. Thinking the catalytic converter might be rooted.. Just an excuse to find some cheap extractors and a more free flowing cat.

Going to be getting new door pins and seals soon, as both have had the gong. Once that's organised, probably look into changing that ugly cluster (see pics above) for either a standard level two cluster or do the level three upgrade (closer to the VT style with digital ODO, Trip meter, fuel use etc).

Had the back completely chockers last weekend with timber and household items for hard rubbish. Was tucking rear tire nicely!

Going to have to throw the ultras back in and see how they go.

  7. Society.

Girlfriend was having a girls night last night, dvds, a few drinks and her closest girlfriends over. No worries, all good.

I finish work early and pop in to say hey. All is good.

Her 'best-friend' (I use this term very loosely) decides she is bored, and invites, with no permission or reasoning, her boyfriend and three others that we did not know.

They arrive, already drunk, then proceed to ruin everyones night for around 15 minutes until I decide enough is enough, and kick them all out, including her 'best friend'.

She managed to completely ruin my girlfriend's girls night, insult a few people and then go off with her 21 year old dropkick, alcoholic boyfriend and his ʞ©$ɟed up mates..

I told her if she does that she ever again she can say goodbye to ever seeing my girlfriend again.. I got a dirty look and a ʞ©$ɟ off.

I hate how it's the minority that ruin it for the majority.

So glad I don't drink any more or hang out with retards..

    end rant/

  8. And just because I'm getting ahead of myself...

IF I get extractors, I was thinking of getting twin cats and running twin pipes like the VE utes out the back on either side. Think it'd look mean laugh.gif

  9. It's horrible, filled with stuffed LED's that you can hardly see at night. Will get to the wreckers in the next fortnight to fix it. Sell it on ebay to some young guy keen on this kinda stuff.

  10. Both would be pretty cool!

Looking at a set of paceys if the price is right. Bit more low end. I want to improve the power off the line rather than making it a rev monster.

Also going to replace this white instrument cluster, it's blinding and annoying.

  11. S Pac is basically saying it's got an LSD(for the utes) , air con, cruise control and that's about as exciting as it gets.

Yeah the ecotec is actually not bad, would be fun in a ke30 ;)

  12. Haha not this time mate, don't need cash and need a car to get around in, so it's staying for a minimum of 2 years (so i can actually save for something nice, or maybe a deposit on a house)

Does need some cleaning up, so I'm going to be doing little things to it such as a tubliner, new rooflining, carpet the rear wall, hopefully a new pair of seats and getting the central locking fixed (guessing the BCM is dead).

Over the next year or so, other than servicing and fuel, I don;t want to inject more than a grand into it unless I see a dirt cheap hardlid.

Ecotec isn't bad for a boat anchor, and it's been rather handy lately having the tub.

If a dirt cheap, registered and roadworthy corolla came up i'd have a look, but I am genuinely sick of having a new car every two weeks...

  13. My luck has been absolutely shithouse. I was trying to sell my VT when the accident happened and was considering a few of the newer Corollas, but thanks to a sudden need for a car and my mate deciding to sell this, I picked it up including the roady and other mechanical work for just over $4k. If I'd had longer to save then you'd see me driving a AE112R Levin.

Ute's pretty good to drive, just need to sort out the shit fuel economy and i'll be happy.

Want to try hold onto this for as long as possible now. So going to do what I can to make it economical and safe, then probably just tidy up the interior and fix the central locking and leave it at that.

  14. Time once again to begin a new thread.

Car: 1995 VS Commodore Ute S Pac

Engine: Low km motor from a VT

    Trans: Recently rebuilt auto

Diff: Not 100% but THINK it is the 3:08 LSD.

    Color: Red

Wheels: 18" SSA wheels with PDW centre caps (Don't even know why) and brand new rubber.

Mods: Lowered on SL springs and shortened shocks all-round, SS CAI, 2.5" exhaust.

Stereo: Pioneer DEH450 HU, Kicker 6.5" splits, Kenwood bridged four channel amp, 12" slimline Kicker subwoofer behind passengers seat, Kicker mono amp.

Misc: Needs a wheel alignment and to sit lower in the back. Also needs new seats as the current ones feel ʞ©$ɟed over any bump.

Going to be in the market for a new tonneau or if funds permit, a hardtop soon.

Reason for purchase: VT got rear ended and written off, kind of got lucky with that as I was not at fault and did well out of the insurance payout.

Excuse the Altezza tail lights, they have been since replaced with smoked standard ones.

  15. The treatment my Dad received from Angliss Hospital in Ferntree Gully today for his operation.

They were splendid. Didn't have an issue with anything, they were laid back and really took good care with him. So absolutely rapt with how well he looks too, he's home now and seems quite good.

    Sometimes, things just go right.
