i got it as a birthday present for my 16th, was never really going to be a look at me kind of car, it had a really faded paint job and surface rust all over the roof and a smacked in boot.. i just wanted it to look nice haha i want to lower the front just a bit to give it a more even look.

Lower the front??

never thought of painting the wheel arches black, i'll consider it, i have no clue about the rims and tires!

anodized hood hinges. bit of sparkle. need to give the engine bay a clean :wink:

well it's all together now, need to get the indicators etc to work, it's being stupid only the headlights will work? looks 10000x better than originally so i'm quite pleased with it. will take photos in the light when the car is started, it won't start at the moment, dad said fuel in the carby had most likely evaporated? hasn't been started for AGES

when it's going i'll get dad to bring it down ;) got to go get some boot rubber fitted at thomas parkers anyway!

It's been sitting in the shed for ages without being turned on, so won't start at the moment Dad is getting one of his mates to do something with all the engine mounts. most are done but he took a few more should be here today. It's like a chrome dip but it comes out a goldish kind of colour? Name keeps slipping my mind, then when we get new rubber stripping for the boot the exterior is finished.n :yes:

good to hear my work is inspiring haha :) progress has been really slow lately ;) as there is much more i can do anymore, all that is left is the bootlid being fixed then it can begin being painted :lolcry:

on the dash where it is that black stuff. not sure what it is but the stuff that cracks, is it hard to take off? or would you have to take apart the whole dash? thinking about making a new one.

havnt sprayed yet, dads gotta find someone with a tig welder so we can fix the bootlid :wink: and it is enamel or how ever its spelt. once dad finds a tig welder and the bootlid is done it will be paint time :D i hope..

well just got back from looking at the 71 corolla and it was crap :D don't think there was a straight panel on it anywhere, didnt have a dash and the bootlid was worse than mine, (the two main reasons i wanted to get it) rust in heaps of places, was asking 250 and i don't reckon it would have gotten 150 :wink:

well, tomorrow morning me and dad are going out to look at another 71' ke20 :yes: hopefully get that and take some parts (bootlid, dash, door trims) can't wait, asking price is $250 but it hasnt been registered for about two years and has just been a paddock basher, so guna try and get it down to $150 shal be good :)

WELLLL dad got the undercoat the other day, so its getting close, school holidays now but there isnt much for me to do :lol: trying to convice dad to take holidays and get this thing painted :yes: :) no other updates really, been lazy haha

Sooo.. my car is all prepared, :fuzz: basically... little tiny bit of sanding under the bonnet and its time to start getting ready to paint. after dad fixes the bootlid then it shal be complete. I'm estimating it will be done by my birthday (october 10) I HOPE...

well today (saturday) seeing girlfriend, tomorrow underside of bonnet :hmm: and finish off the little tiny bit of sanding left to do on the drivers side under the door THEN AFTER THAT ALL THE MAIN SANDING IS DONE!! :sob:

sides a LITTLE bit cleaner top of the motor cleaner and stuff and the chrome thing on the thing is now shiny. yeah i don't know what things are called :sob:

welll.. took the bonnet off today by myself woot quite proud. hurt my arm heaps holding it up (the bad one from being hit by a car last week, yeah it still hurts heaps) sanded the bottom of that a bit which also hurt heaps (right arm being my main arm :cool: )then i cleaned up in the engine bay a bit turned out heaps better than before especially considering i didnt really do that much, thats about it for today though :y: will take some photos if requested :hmm: :sob:
