  1. Now that the Australian Dollar is strong, it makes good sense to by parts from the US in particular. I am after ignition spares (Plug Leads, Distributor Cap & rotor O2 sensor etc) that are priced stupidly here. Anybody got any reputable overseas suppliers that do not rip off on postage for the above mentioned items? Regards
  2. Are the widths of these two "Australian" Borg Warner diffs the same. If not, how much difference. The bare KE55 diff is 1230mm (ie axles removed) if that helps. I know that spring location is not the same, however that does not affect my project. Are the both BW 68? Regards and thanks
  3. My clubman 7 has a KE55? rear axle. The handbrake cable exits from the front (ahead of the axle) of the backing plate as standard currently. The cable and mechanism would work much better (smoother) if the backing plates were reversed (ie. swapping left to right) to allow the cable to exit behind the axle. What would the implications of this swap be? Would general braking OR handbrake function be affected in any way? Regards
  4. Thanks for the reply. I have already removed the offending bearings as you suggested. Regards
  5. I am replacing the bearings on a KE55 rear axle. The new bearing sets are GBC. However the new bearings have what appears to be extra oil seal in the kit. The extra seal is the item on the left. What is the purpose of his seal? The bearings I removed consisted of just the bearing and retaining collar. What tonnage hydraulic press is sufficient to press on the new bearings? Regards
  6. Does any Australian delivered Toyota have the same Starter Relay (DO NOT READ SOLENOID) as the 20V Silvertop?
  7. Thanks for the replies. I have two 20v starters, and it is good to know that they may be worth something. I have seen one clubman that had the re-location job done, hence the question. My current starter (ae86?) misbehaves and i suspect it may be heat related. I guess I could just replace it when it burns out.
  8. I have a 20V motor with a t50 box in a Clubman 7 car. I want to use the 20v reduction starter re- located to the driver’s side of the box as I have two lying around. The starter on the LHS is getting fried by exhaust headers. Unfortunately I do not have the 20v FWD box to cut (butcher) the starter motor bulge/housing from, and weld to the T50. Does anybody know if any Australian delivered car has the same starter motor housing bolt pattern as the 20v? Or does anybody have a 20v box that I could butcher for the job? My location is Brisbane Western Suburbs. Any comments or advice appreciated.
  9. I need to swap a pinion flange on a BW 68 Diff. I have some concerns about upsetting pre-loads when I re-torque the nut. Any advice on the procedure would be appreciated.
