Ease up lads. Nick isn't claiming to have the best car there..... simply the one that catches the eye as far as bright colour. It's true. His car does dominate colour in those photo's. Not everyone can afford to or has the know how to cut and repair rust and repaint their car. A Corolla enthusiast is a Corolla enthusiast....... well as long as they have a KE1x or KE2x. :wink:

 

Also...... I reckon it's orange, not mustard.

 

What I'm trying to say is, I'm sick of people claiming to have good cars when they are just rust buckets that look ok in pics but ordinary in real life, cause his didnt stand out on the cruise. Unless standing out means in need of a major resto...... btw my brother owned that ke20 and it was ordinary then (about 4 years ago) it doesnt look any better now..... do the windows still leak? and hows the gearbox?

and now i can see where the confusion has come from, the link that knight engines has posted (the 3k from hell) is wrong slightly, its not a 3k 1300 its a 4k 1300, and i should know cos its my car.

no its not, i owned that car, took all the good stuff off, put all my shit rusted

panels on it, put the plates on this 1 and sold that car...

 

had quite a few 10's in my time

nice work, where did you get your new tie rods, bushes etc?

 

Inner tie-rod ends - Power Max Part No. TE425R x2 May need new adjuster

 

Outer Tie-rod ends - Power Max Part No. TE426L x2 May need new adjuster

 

i had to get custom adjusters made up because the threads were wrong on the tie rods, can be difficult because the LH thread is rare and i had to get it made up

 

Lower Ball Joints - Pedders Part No. BJ113, apparently meant for ke20, but is only ball joint i could find to fit a ke10, had to machine out the tappered hole for the nut to fit - easy as.

 

bushes were custom made urethanes with graphite in them so they don't squeak
