  1. you need all of your factory sensors except the map sensor and a factory wiring loom or a new custom wiring loom. once you have all that then you can start making connections to the short loom you get with the ecu.
  2. edit" i clearly did not read the posts above mine
  3. don't quote me on this but i believe i read something about a cold start in my user manual. I'm not saying buy a microtech, there are plenty of great ecu's out there but don't let hearsay testimonials change your decision. my advice go and talk to a good tuning shop. btw i got an email from microtech last week and the cost to change over model is $400.
  4. well whitey is on the road and i'm very much enjoying the drive. i have some more work to do yet but as soon as i do some maintenance to the wifes car its corolla all the way.
  5. i have a microtech, it depends on what you order. you get the ecu and a short loom about 20cm of wiring, the lt series are laptop tunable but you need to buy a laptop adapter. you can also get a hand controller for your dash or glove box so you can tune on the run. they come with an inbuilt map sensor that works to i thing 15psi but this is upgradeable. i am not really sure about how they compare to other brands but i suppose it depends who you ask. the rx7 and et/exa pulsar crowds love them.
  6. Dream on johno swapped over the gearbox today maybe i can drive soon...
  7. i just looked at those pics and they were from when i first got it. here is a pic of the engine bay a bit later on. and the purple stuff was not my idea it was the missus.
  8. nah i didn't cry, but not for some macho reason. when it happened the bang woke me up and i just got dressed and walked out i was oddly calm about the whole thing.
  9. that will be the last step if at all. the old car was great in a straight line but i'm hoping for more from this car. fortunately i was not in the car when it happened i was in bed.
  10. wow the last year has been a blur i'm back now sporting a new car and a new attitude towards cars. this is what happened to my beloved rolla thanks to a pretty awful 4wd driver my new car and a new direction towards handling and driveability, and a shift away from the flashy straight line speed of previous rides
  11. they sure do!!!
  12. to be honest i have no idea but when the time comes hit em up in the tech section and i'm sure someone can give you a good response. considering that they came with a 4age as an option i would think it can't be too far off
  13. lovin the rolla mate it looks sweet in green and I'm having a bit of wheel envy, as time goes on that car will be a weapon
  14. cool car mate its a good starting point cos its already blue. my advise would be get the 4age and make her tidy then it gets really fun to drive.
  15. nice runabout mate was looking at buying one myself a while back, there a good base for some easy mods but are new enough to have a nice interior. good luck and keep us posted on the plans
  16. i just bought 4 new adrenalin re001 Potenza tires they are probably the best tire i have ever driven on i would strongly recommend these to anyone for use on the street check out the site http://www.potenza-adrenalin.com/ to find out more. i got mine in 185/60r14 at a really good price. also the new bearings are in with machined rotors and genuine brake pads for the ae93 twincam. i changed all the oils and fluids using the best lubricants, mobil one in the engine and Penzoil LSD in the gearbox now the car feels even better. the only thing i haven't changed is the supercharger oil cos I'm still not sure what my best option is.
  17. the front mount is pretty bold i know but you gotta love the results it really is the biz
  18. really like the rolla mate the interior is sick, i gotta do my dash like yours. well done
  19. more interior pics as requested :hmm:
  20. hey everyone i'm new to the forum this is my second AE82 but this one that i have just acquired is not stock like the first. it has a 4agze and lsd gearbox out of a AE101 levin and i believe AE92 disc brakes, it also has had a light blue respray that has a purple tint in the light. the interior has been re-trimmed in blue and white and it has gt gauges. after driving it i just had to have it, its such a little rocket and the engine noise is second to none. it has stock Toyota alloys and standard tires that light up at any hint of throttle its a joy to drive. here are some pics... thanks for checking it out
