  2. Cheers mate, the front bar i got from city dismantlers, the front bar is slightly different now as i have clear indicator lenses as well.

if you talking bout my grill its isnt an FXGT grill(wouldnt fit as the FXGT is hatchback :jamie:) but yeah its a sprinter grill, it basically the same as a series 1 grill only that its unpainted and has sprinter instead of toyota on it :)

clear lenses...... oh it keeps gettin better n better, ive been lookin for some for mine for a month now can't find.

  3. www.carmate.com for aftermaket and most of those kits don't suit the lines of a corolla theres is one that kinda suits but its still a bit "iffy"

or you can go with a bumper bar that was never available on a corolla here in australia

    standard ae9x series 2 flavour = boring

urs looks tough man, where bouts did u find ur front bar from?

  4. ey all, was just after some help and suggestions on what i can do for a kit for my ae92 seca, mainly focusing on the front at the moment. not sure where to look or if i should go a aftermarket one or jst change to a gti one or somethin. ideas would be muchly appreciated. thanks

  5. Well its not loud enough to be pulled over by the cops. Its hard to explain exhaust noises in word form hahah! Its louder than normal. Do you like loud exhausts that get people looking at you or are u just looking for it to sound a little sportier?

i want it to sound good, not too loud but also get peoples attention, lol

  6. Hmm well i had a completely stock system on my 4afe Ae92, but i took it to an exhaust place near me that we had some done, i got a full 2.5 inch exhaust fitted from the cat back with a resi and muffler and its PERFECT. From the outside, when it starts up and cold its pretty beefy, but then it calms down and idles deep and sounds smooth but not loud and drowning. When u rev it u get a deeper rev noise than normal. From inside its very good. You can hear everything, the noise isnt overpowering. I think the biggest change in noise since i got it was inside, it just sounds so much better inside!

My advice would be 2.5 resi and muffler. I hate the sound of canons personally, and i think a resi is necessary so it kills the droaning.

    hope that made sense

u ever been hasseled by cops or defected for it bein too loud? d/w i dun like cannons either

  7. got a 4-afe jst had 4-2-1 ectractors put on due to a hole in the front pipe and crack in manifold. but I'm wondering what i should do for the rest of the system as to sound good but not b over loud or drowning. do i go resi and muffler but 2 or 2.5 inch, or jsut resi n cannon, or just rear muffler n 2 inch. open to anyideas or sustions and adivce. thanks

  8. ive put a front strut brace on my 1991 ae92 seca, i can already notice the difference but was wondering if anyone had advice on what i should do/get when i upgrade from my factory shocks and springs, and also if thre is anywhere to maby find a rear stabiliser bar? thjanks

  9. ey man thanks, that is the only 2 ways i could really think bout doin it as well but thought id ask on here n see what others come up with. yeah there isnt any holes there is jst the plate behind where they are ment to be, big help man cheers

Check first that there aren't any holes already drilled in the firewall and just covered up by a sticker/plaque etc. If you put the brace on you should see exactly where the holes should be/will need to be drilled (remember to always put strut braces on when the car is on level ground, and not up on jacks, otherwise the chassis will twist)

If you do need to drill holes, this is what I did on the AE102 when I put a Levin strut brace in it:

    1) Unbolt anything on the firewall that might get in the way (I had to move the air-con idle-up valve)

    2) Undo and remove the nuts holding the strut tower top to the guard (DO NOT TOUCH THE PISTON ROD NUT), it should only be two nuts per side (with one left untouched)

    3) Place the brace over the strut tower studs, and mark out the bolt hole locations on the firewall. Drill out each hole (roughly 10-12mm in diameter, depending on what option you choose to do next)

There are 3 options as to how you want to actually secure the brace to the firewall:

    a) Tap the holes in the firewall

    b) Bore the hole out, use a through bolt with a nut on the plenum side of the firewall (ie bolt head in the engine bay)

    c) As above, except nut in the engine bay and bolt head in the plenum)

To get to the plenum in the AE102 I had to remove the plenum cover, which was the black plastic thing between the bonnet and the windscreen, which was just a couple of screws/bolts.

Remember to use a big enough bolt to fit the hole in the strut brace, washers may be a good idea too.
