  1. helloooo i am selling my nissan gazelle. it has ca20e, fresh oil, filter and

    plugs. needs a battery. has cut rear springs, comes on stock gazelle wheels.

    car isnt Overrated, a few rust spots around one of the rear windows. has a rust

    free sunroof. plates were handed in so you'll need to fill out a form and

    get new plates! car runs and drives. has a straight pipe.

  2. fair enough, you're a third of the weight of the car at that corner, so it will take a lot to bottom out.

     

    I assume they are Kings springs, they do bright yellow ones for ZK Fairlanes. No rate written down on their website for them unfortunately.

     

    yeh i really think bottoming out is the last of my worries

    haha... i can't find spring rates either. ahh well i think

    I'm gonna get commodore shocks......

  3. no pot holes but there is ripple strips... idk

    if it can bottom out, the springs don't let the

    car move. i jumped in the car and it doesnt budge.

    i understand I'm only 80kg and it might change on

    the track under cornering etc but idk.

     

    the spring are from a zk fairlane and are probly

    triple the diameter of the stock springs i pulled

    out.

  4. I wouldn't want to! I want to see what its like to drive and what effect those springs have!

     

    So... what happens when the strut wants to drop down to follow a hollow in the road or the body rolls in a corner and the zip ties are holding it up?? I've always wondered what tension a zip tie can stand.

     

    its track only and the car is that stiff it shouldnt get

    any body roll. ill test it for you.

     

    i don't wanna spend any more money than i have to on this

    corolla cause I'm gonna get coilovers soon. I'm not worried

    either way.

     

    just a bit of fun, and I'm doing it all myself just tryna

    learn. it might work and ill have a race car ^__^

    From VK wagon though, they might be an aftermarket one, but either way they are pretty stiff.

    If the road drops away suddenly the rear wheels will leave the ground.

     

    As for xf and those early falcon springs, no way. I saw some of them when i was spring hunting, they are solid as f*ck!

    Au falcons would be good if they fitted right, whenever i went to lower the car off the jack the bottom coil would slip out because they were too big diametre. Anyone else get this?

     

    How low are you having the car? Sierra's need the car to be scrapeshitandscrubtire low. The commodore wagons will have the springs captive til the cars about 100mm off the ground.

     

    i might end up using vk wagon shocks, i want it scrapshitandscrubtire low though :|

  6. Did you work out the spring rates?? Wire diameter, spring diameter, number of free coils and a calculator like this one-

    The coils being held at each end don't count, so if you have 6 coils you have 4 free coils that do all the work.

     

    It will be interesting to see what spring rates you have and how it rides.

     

    so i got one coil doing all the work lol? funny as. i didnt

    do any calculating, pulled them out, cut them half of my old

    ones. put them in and presto. i jumped on the car and it

    doesnt really move at all... I'm a bit worried about them popping

    out :o

  7. ok so i went to upullit and got some zk king springs diameter

    was almost the same as the spring i had already, its a very

    close fit.

     

    started with lots of coils

    and the thread on the insert wasnt long enough so the bolt isnt held on

    by much, but haters gonna hate ^__^

    sounds perfect, stiff as. can't handle the body roll anymore

    and the car is way to aggressive when i try to link corners.

    that set up looks cheap and its close too, but can't wait for

    rebuild :)

     

    i just need to know the part number for gabriel of the exact

    shock i need would make it easy!

  9. oversteer is the plan :) i got xf kingys from upullit gonna

    go halfies. just need get the front as stiff now! anyone

    know cheap way to get front as hard? i got xf spring for the

    front to diameter was close but gotta fit them tomorrow.

     

    its for ke70 sedan

     

    like i said guys, this car is by no means for the road, and

    I'm not gonna lie i considered welding two bars in haha.

    before i get flamed ive searched the forums and google can't find anything that helps me.

     

    all i want to know is what model sierra shocks you guys are running?

    year, soft top or hardtop? etc.. the more info the better. I'm trying

    to order a pair in but autobarn keep ringing me saying they don't know

    which ones i want. also gabriel or munroe? they quoted me 100 each, is

    that decent?

  11. nice be an iteresting one, be sure to put up heaps of pics,

    also what struts are those?? could try some mr2 inserts there pretty short,tho may need a

    small spacer at the bottom ,some thing to look into tho .

     

    ill give the mr2 shocks ago, aw11 i assume?

    i take alot of pictures. love it :D

     

    bought front end off gumtree was in better condition than mine, so

    I'm swapping it and putting shit one on my drift car. its all painted

    blue to match the car now gonna put together tomorrow. i wanna play

    with the struts while the guards are off.

  12. hey guys my names michael, 18 and I'm from adelaide. just wanted to make

    a build thread for my ke70.

     

    i bought the car about a week ago off rollaclub for 600. its very

    rough but being a dumb ʞ©$ɟ i sold my old baby blue one that was

    in 20 times better condition but ohh well. i bought my first ke70

    with a running 4age for 1000 about a year ago defected for track

    only, ive since moved on bought a s13 for drifting now and gonna

    make a 4age daily :\

     

    new car, rust is lighter than carbon fibre ;)

    i bought coilovers a while ago off rollaclub, being a noob i didnt

    realise how long they were...

    so me and my brother cut them down so i need to find some shorter shocks

    that will fit and some stiff springs. any help would be great guys!

    also gonna hunt down some xf springs and sierra shocks for the rear. got

    sv21 radiator with twin thermos for it too. ive got a ma61 i was gonna

    try the front shocks and springs from that in the ke70 but not sure if

    they will work or be stiff. might try anyway. just bought all new front end off gumtree

    with out rust, so currently fitting new front end. and thats where I'm

    up to ^___^

    i put my soarer on here once before and everyone wanted me to part it out. I'm selling the whole shell, not gonna part it out before anyone asks :)

     

    its a 86 model, sunroof, maroon interior. the body is in very good condition no dents only major rust is in doors and its f@$k all. i got 2 doors to go with it, the car is white and the doors a creamy colour with blue pearl. interior is complete and i have bonnet and front lights to include in sale. also have stock gz20 rims with it.

     

    i bought it off a older man that was restoring it but lost interest. all i wanted was the 1g but ended just buying the whole car.

  14. i had troubles with bad earth to engine and shit voltage to the ecu and coil when cranking.

    check voltages at ecu and coil when cranking if shite run a wire and relay straight from battery

     

    finally fixed was flooding on start up and leaning out when we got it running, the throttle body sensor had been played with.. the limiter kept kicking in randomly, but all fixed and made drift prac :)
