  1. Yeh some photos of where the latch goes on would be appreciated thanks Boost+k. I need to figure out how I'm going to make my plate look before i weld it on the inside of the door... I was thinking of just making it square to the edge of the door straiht back to the pillar.... Probably the easiest way and it will look pretty good. But if you got some photos tha migt give me some ideas...
  2. I was planning on makin a mould to make up some fibreglass doors for it. But the doors line up pretty good I thought... Are you talking about the crease about 100mm from the bottom of the door being out?
  3. Has anyone come across any photos of the inside of the door jam on the B pillar of a genuine 2door? I would be keen to get my hands on some photos so that when I modify mine I can do it to 'as original' looking as possible.
  4. Theres a lot of things i need to fix up on the car. One of the things that was done a bit dodgy was the door hinges for the rear doors were left on bolted to the B pillar. This means that you can still see that it was made out of a 4 door. There is also a nasty gap where the door rubber should go so I'm going to wend in some sheet metal so that its going to be a little harder to tell that it has been made out of a 4 door. It will also seal the cabin and get rid of the gap through the door where there is no rubber. Also have to weld in some seatbelt mounts at the bottom as the lower bolt hole no longer lines up with the original one, but the one in the pillar is still usable.
  5. Hey whats the difference between a flat front rad support and a slanty one? Would it be easier to make a slanty one fit a flat front or just simply weld in a new flat front rad support? Is it just the upper section that needs doing?
  6. The rear glass is just a piece of perspex cut to size... It has a piece of 20x20 aluminium angle screwed and sikaflexed hard up against the pillar so it is pretty much touching the B pillar.
  7. My doors measure 1155mm on the body line... tad shorter than van doors... Heres a pic of the side on shot... I measured the rear glass also, along the base was 650 and 420 high on the front edge
  8. The rear door was shortened and welded in place as a permanent structure also providing support for the B pillars.
  9. Van doors are quite similar to the length of the doors on mine. Never had a van door to measure against. If someone knows the length of Van doors I would be keen to know. The doors on mine have been made out of 4 front KE sedan doors (the front section chopped just behind the middle and the back section chopped just infront of the middle making 1 long door joined together). The B pillars are the same pillars that have been cut out and moved backwith other upper sill's welded in to fill the hole. The trim is all stock KE sedan interior, still got a bit of modifying to do to the B pillar covers as the pillars are on more of an angle backwards.
  10. Yeah that one looks overrated. I want to get the chrome bumpers like thats got too. Thats a genuine one yeah?
  11. Yeh I bought it not long ago. It was in SA but I brought it home to melb... I'm in the process of getting it registered. I can't go spending too much money on it yet untill my LX Torana is on the road again as that has been my main project, but it is coming along so hopefully it wont be too much longer till I can start building the KE.
  12. Hey all, Relatively new to these forums but I thought I would post up a couple of photos of my KE70 project. It is a 2 door conversion from a 4 door. It’s had the B-pillars moved back about 200mm and the front doors extended to suit. Just picked up the wheels for it this week, I had them sandblasted and then powder coated at my uncle’s powder coating business and polished up the dish and I think they come up Mickey Mouse. Only got the pair for the front so am trying to chase up another pair for the rear, slightly wider ones. It’s going to run a S13 front end with a SR20det with RB20box and R31 diff. Hope ya all like it. Keep Rollin -Mish
