this is a question to the guys out there with the toyota 5k motors in your zooks. i know that there is a few of you out there. I have a 5k in my zook ute and it doesn't seem to be running right (so i think). what i would like to know is what sort of speed do you get out of it at what revs and what fuel consumption you are getting. Mine is a 5 speed manual and I am getting approx 15L per 100 (250k's out of a 40L tank) and i am running 31's on 4.1 NT diffs and 1 lt transfer case. i can sit on 100 but it is at almost 3400 RPM. i just want to compare what you other guys get before i start spending money on something that may be correct.

Hey guys, can someone tell me if there are any major difference in the starter motors between 3k, 4k, and 5k and if there are any difference's between the auto and manual?? i know that the 5k ones have got the reduction gears but is there anything else? can you just bolt them straight across between each type of motor??

Thanks Guys, I don't have the corolla radiator as it is still running the stock sierra radiator. I think that i will still run a oil cooler just to keep the temp down as i will be using it off road in low range etc and it may get hot working down low.

i have got a couple more questions for you guys that i need to get my head around before going ahead with this conversion. What size transmission oil cooler would i need to keep the temp down?? what sort of temp do the auto boxes run at normally?? I want to get everything sorted out from the word go so i don't have any problems once i start doing it. Any info would be a great help. Cheers

okay i have found a 3 speed auto box out of a KE55. Now my question is are the output splines that same from the manual gearbox to the auto?? also are the gearboxes the same length??

Do you have any ideas on what these gearboxes would cost from a wrecker complete with the flex plate and torque converter?? also do you know what they are called or have any info on them so that i can start the search for them. Cheers

Do these gearbox' sbolt straight up to the 5k or what needs to be done to make them fit??

Hey, i have a 5k motor in my suzuki sierra ute and i am wanting to change the gearbox to a auto instead of manual. What cars can i get a gearbox out of that would match up with the 5k motor. I don't care much about the shifter position at this stage cause i will probably need to modify anyway to fit the suzuki. i have read that you can use a few different types with changing the bell housings but would like to see if i can get one that would just mount straight up.

I am wanting to put an electronic dizzy in it so can someone tell me what cars i can get an electronic dizzy that will fit into the 5k motor. I know about changing the coil over to have the ignitor and that but i just need to know what cars i can get one from so i can start to search the wreckers. Cheers

Hi guys, I have got a Suzuki Sierra ute with a 5k motor in it. Does anyone have the correct settings for the points??? I have bought some new points but i don't know what the correct gap is supposed to be. Any info would be great. Cheers

Rollasrus, what is involved in putting the 4ke efi setup on a 5k motor?? What model/make can you get these from?? I have just bought a 86 sierra ute with a 5k motor and 5 speed box in it. I don't know what box is in it yet as i have only just bought it and i need to get under it to have a better look. I took it off road and the carbi just flooded half way up hills or on side angles so i need to do something to correct that cause i was stuck places where i didn;t want to be stuck.
