I've been looking through the Noltec catalogue as I'm looking into purchasing some adjustable camber/castor strut tops for my KE55. I have also been getting quotes from various locations, and have established that AE86 strut tops can be bought cheaper. I was under the impression that AE86 items would fit, but the Noltec catalogue disagrees with me. According to Noltec, their N44025 strut top will fit the following models:

COROLLA KE20,KE25,KE26,TE25 ‘70-78

COROLLA KE30,KE35,KE36,KE38,KE50,KE55 ‘75-81

COROLLA KE70,KE71,AE70,AE71 ‘81-85

Whereas the AE86 uses part number N44026. I thought that if the part fitted an AE86, it would also fit an AE71. What would be the difference between the AE86 item and the AE71 item? Is the bolt spacing different or something? Interestingly, Noltec don't list a strut top for the TE72 (T-18) model, and I thought that it would definitely share the part with either the AE71 or the AE86. Can anyone shed some light on why these might be different?

On a side note, AJPS have a page of parts to suit AE86, KE70, AE71, and TE72. On this page they have adjustable strut tops, but don't differentiate between models. This may be because you have to specify which model you want the part to suit when you order parts, but I'm uncertain. It would indicate to me that AE86/KE70/AE71/TE72 all share the same part numbers.

I know, I'm just trying to find out if they suit the KE55. The problem with T3 is that they are a US company and I thought they didn't get the KE30/55 did they?

It lists 75-78 corolla.

The KE25 comes under the KP61 startlet for adjustable camber plates.

Worth emailing them and asking. They're really quick to respond too.

Click that and grab his email addy and ask them.

Bugger me, I just did a search and it turns out that the U.S. market Corolla for 1975-78 included the TE51, so the strut tops should match. Thanks for you help Raven.

No worries Ancullen :)

Glad I could help.

You'd still have to find out if they have adjustable camber plates to suit as it doesnt list it on the T3 website.

I'm sure they'll figure something out though if you fire off an email.
