sooti Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 Hi, I just sold my 97 Toyota Supra TT and have decided I want to get a Ninth Gen Toyota Corolla (2001-2004). I loved the seats when I sat in them, but really hated the 4 Spoke steering wheels which look like a fat pig on its stomach. What I did notice however is that the Levin model has really nice 3 spoke steering wheels that look identical to my old Supra. Is it possible/difficult to grab a 3 spoke steering wheel from a wreck and replace the 4 spoke steering wheel with it? I'm talking in regards to clockspring fit and what not. I know its a weird mod, but its important to me that my next car looks decent on the inside. I don't want to fork out so much for a Levin and would prefer to buy an ascent/conq and upgrade the wheel, but still maintain the the airbag and functionality. I'm after a 2002-2004 (100kw) Hatch in Auto with Power windows and <60,000km. Thanks Sooti Quote
ancullen Posted November 28, 2006 Report Posted November 28, 2006 Changing the steering wheel on a car with an airbag can be extremely dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. You'd be better off buying the Levin model. It can't be very much of a price difference after four years (for an 02 model). Quote
TheNOBBLER[RL] Posted December 1, 2006 Report Posted December 1, 2006 Toyota will change it... for a price! Quote
chrismiass Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 The airbag assembly on the rollas are the same as loock as you set the clock spring up properly its not really that hard to fit Quote
