racinnc Posted December 22, 2006 Report Posted December 22, 2006 i wanted to know how many people here have actually done a v8 conversion. was trying to get some ideas on what setup they used. i was thinking a 302 or maybe a 350. havn't decided yet on manual or automatic. i don't know much about these cars. i just bought one for $250. it has a 3k-c and a five speed. my other car is a 01 trans am so i need something that will flat out haul ass. MRMOPARMAN Posted December 23, 2006 Report Posted December 23, 2006 (edited) a 302 would be much easier than the chev, as they have a 60degree block so extractors would be easier to make up for it. parts are cheap as chips for them too these days.. 347 stroker kits = <$1! they are also very light for a cast iron block! if you get one try and get an EB on, or even better, an AU 5.0l much better than the older windsors. oh don't expect to get this engineered!
