HEKTIC Posted December 25, 2006 Report Posted December 25, 2006 Hey guys and gals, I need some help regarding the removal of my dash. First I tried to remove the top half as I need to repair it but when that failed because I couldn't get to two screws I was instructed to remove the whole dash, I started trying to do that this morning and have got all the bolts at either end of the dash but now its stuck in the middle. I think its the heater controls etc which from what i could see are screwed into the dash but I'm not sure. I have looked in my Gregory's manual but that only tells me how to remove my centre console which is already out. How do I get past this as I really need to get my dash out! John. Quote
JiP Posted December 26, 2006 Report Posted December 26, 2006 (edited) The bottom section should come out once you've removed... *All the screws around the glove gox (top and bottom) *The screws drom under the dash on the drivers, and passengers sides. (Metal brackets) *One under the dash in the center. (under the heater controls) *The passenger side vent has a screw on its right hand side. *The drivers side vent has two screws visible from the front. *I can't remember if the center one has any screws. *Disconnect the heater controls. *Disconnect the dash lights knob. *Remove choke *One under steering wheel (between dash and steering column) *Remove radio *Remove speedo cluster *Lastly, between the door and the dash their is a screw on holding the tip half on, and another holding the bottom half to the fire wall. Hope this helps. Jon. Edited December 26, 2006 by JiP_01 Quote

JiP Posted December 26, 2006 Report Posted December 26, 2006 (edited) If you wanna take the hard way about it. I just grabbed an alan key, removed the knob, and then undid the thin nut holding it to the dash. Both would work, but your way seems alot harder. Jon. Edited December 26, 2006 by JiP_01 Quote
HEKTIC Posted December 26, 2006 Author Report Posted December 26, 2006 I removed the choke from the carb because I couldn't see another way but its out now! Woohooo thanks heaps Jon. However one of the screws holding the lower half to the top half seems to have seased ill soak it in WD40 after I've had some lunch but I'm not sure if that will work. Any ideas? John Quote
