Hi All,

I am a subaru man myself, but my other half drives a 1990 corolla hatch. AE90 i think, carby engine. I love this little car, apart from replacing the brushes in the alternator i have never had to do any more than regular servicing on it.

The car has started to develop a really loud road noise that starts at about 80kph and gets really bad at 100kph. It sounds like wheel bearings to me, however before i go pulling the rear end apart i thought i would ask if there are any other common problems i should look at?

The rear drums are in bad need of machining and new shoes, so i am planning to pull the rear end apart and have the brakes done up, and new bearings fitted.

Has anyone got info on replacing wheel bearings in these cars?

Thanks

Get a service manual. Or ask on the subaru forum.... :hmm:

We're not here at your beck and call. Alot of one post newbies come and go and some of these guys get sick of repeating repeating themselves themselves.
