pro_ke Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 before you decide, remember : - i hate spending money - in adelaide a good running 4k with 4 speed is worth a carton of beer, no more. 4k motor big port head sprinter twin carbs elec dizzy extractors (ke20) mild cam no box complete w/all access (alt etc) bottom end makes 'a noise' note i don't have a car for all this to go into either so factor in that i have to pay $1000 for a car w/broken motor at some stage and also i have to source a bottom end (should be able to find one for free) the aim of the game is to make a 'daily driver' for $1000 or less! Super Jamie Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 let's look at how much this all costs to buy in working condition 4k motor, complete w/all access (alt etc) $150 big port head $80-$200 sprinter twin carbs $300 elec dizzy $150 extractors (ke20) $50 mild cam $80 so far that's around 750 to a grand's worth of bits. i'd ask $500ish you really need to define "a noise". if it's say timing chain, then that's all good and easy fixed. if it's say, a big end bearing or rod bolt, well, at least you'd be getting a bargain on the rest. you're either going to have to fix it or put all the good stuff on another motor Quote
