its not like k series corolla stuff is actually worth anything a mate called a wrecker here today looking for a good 4k crank, well they wouldnt sell him a crank but they would however sell him a complete short motor (ie no head) in good condition for $50 nuff said

in the long run it will be cheaper to just use the factory injection setup and it will drive better anyway trust me on this

4 Speed To 5 Speed Conversion In A Ke70
pro_ke replied to fourwheeldemon's topic in Engine Conversions
yes inc drums on the front 140rwkw w/stardard valves on a 40+ degree day new head w/big valves (big... ive seen!) is built and ready to go on car box and diff are fine with full power being run through them probably wouldnt take too kindly to the shock of quick changes/big steps off the clutch -
just got back from our little fishing adventure. went from adelaide to innes national park which is right at the bottom of yorke peninsula and quite isolated (surfers would recognise the name chinamans beach) anyway we started at a place called stenhouse bay which has a massive jetty at the bottom of these cliffs (there are no houses there or anything, its an abandoned mining area) but it was a bit too choppy so nothing there later on that day we headed over to a place called cable beach and did some pretty dangerous rock climbing to get to this little bay where we caught nothng at all. moved on to another spot just before pondalowie bay where we managed to scale down a 15-20 metre cliff to some rocks (it was quite calm) and we caught a coulple of little weedy things... still not much action decided to head west because the wind was coming from the north east and we stopped at point turton for a bit of jetty fishing. hauled in about 15 squid and a couple of other little fish before we dcided to call it an evening. woke up and it was a bit too windy so we headed up to ardrossan on the eastern side of the peninsula (about 1.5 hours away) and went for squid off the jetty there but there was no biting really, though i did get one decent bite but i ripped his tentacle clean off his body i was that excited! anyhow, about 15 medium to above average sized squid was the result!

some nice hauls there :) ive not caught a decent saltwater fish for ages. we have been fishing for carp mostly in the river and have pulled up a few 2-3kg monsters! just getting started in the world of squidding... a mate went out last weekend off one of our metro beaches in adelaide and came back with the 45 boat limit of decent squid! my camping/fishing trip starts on monday, i will ensure i update this thread with the details of the haul :)

good stuff doug but i want to see you up the compression by half a point :) ive been thinking about a 5k as well but then i can't go in the under 1300cc class at the hillclimbs (i would get slaughtered in under 1600) have fun getting that manifold back on hehe

that throttle linkage is worth over $350 on its own (trust me i know) but still thats a lot of money for a twin weber setup its a lot of hassle to get them in an early rolla (ie ke10/20) but the sound they make is worth all the heartache!
-
people go to extraordinary lengths to be tight arses!
-
i just applied for my 2S license today so i can enter the hillclimbs in 2 weeks odd timing on the thread!

ladies and gents we are 3 and a half weeks away from jambo note this will be the biggest event for small/hi tech car enthusiasts in this country EVER! not to be missed.

doesnt really matter so long as it slots into one of those things above the flat ended (non threaded) bike cables are perfect
-
no it doesnt rhread in it just sort of slots in there
-
very stiff... but safe i suppose edit - yeah the carbs have return springs internally too
-
answers : - no. its a little attachment you can get from weber dealers... its a long bolt with a slot for your cable end and it is hollow (so the cable can go thru) - the threaded part is where you can adjust the sheath tension (see pic) - same as the above. i made a small alloy plate that i bolted behind the firewall so it would fit (the factory hole is too big) - no there was already a hole there but you are on the right track there i need to change a few things to put the other accel cable in (its supposed to be a twin cable setup) but its low on the list!
-
this is very hard to explain lol!
-
this is the bolt on the pedal that the cable goes through (the grey bit is the cable) so if you need to adjust the cable tension, this is where you do it.

fook - your setup is dead easy you will jsut have to make a little bracket to hold the cable in place at the TB end ill take some pics now ab
-
kind of hard to understand what you mean... but heres a guess you attach it to the pedal lever in the cabin with one of those split pin bolts. basically its just a long bolt with a couple of holes in the threaded part and a securing nut + split pin. you put the cable thru the hole and tighten the nuts so they hold the cable.. and the bolt goes thru the accelerator pedal lever. on the TB side your bike cable will have that big round metal lump which i assume should be an easy fit (or at least easy to modify) to hook into your throttle lever on the TB? if not, i would be off to the wreckers to look for linkage parts that you can cut and weld onto your current setup (would really need to see what you have close up to offer an opinion!) edit : the bit where the threaded nuts are on your setup is where the bike sheath should end. you may need to make a little alloy bracket to make sure it stays in the right spot though (piece of alloy with a deep hole would work). the threaded nut part is for the adjustment of the cable, with the above nut/bolt thing you would now adjust the slack at the pedal end
-
do you have a pic of the throttle body lever you are trying to adapt it to?
-
probably not what you are after but i have been using the canon ixus point and shoot jobs for a while now and i swear by them have had some brilliant photos from it, it just took a while to work out all the settings etc...

jamie you'd tap it i would
