Suggestions?

hi guys,

 

look, i know this is a corolla forum but i'm sure people here could tell me a good place for me to service new ride :y: which is an '86 toyota celica st162. i've been looking for a corolla coupe in melb. area but i found no luck on getting it, so i got myself a celica instead.

 

now, this car has some problems on the engine, which is a 3s-ge with 5-speed manual transmission. the car seems to be choked (?) when i hit the gas. it happens on low rpm like 1-3 rpm. so i'm thinking of servicing the car. as i don't want to get ripped off from the mechanics (i just got to australia like 3 months ago and i haven't go to a mechanic before) i need some suggestions on which mechanics/place to fix my car in melbourne in nothern suburbs area (i live in reservoir btw).

 

so yeah, if any of you can help me i'd be very thankful ;) . and i'll post some pics of my new ride if you guys want to see it. :jamie:

how ya goin.. i acutally live in reservoir too (till next thursday).

 

i used to work at a place in miller st. epping, called kamford motors. the owner kamil is a real nice honest bloke, and prices usually arent too bad. also he's ajoining the toyota wrecker there :jamie:

 

we used to get a fair few toyotas through the workshop so it wouldnt be anything new to him.

well, turns out the problem was an air hose that is connecting the engine and the air filter box thing. the condition of the hose wasn't too good. it's already been taped up all around with some black sticky tape. i gotta go to the wrecker sometime tomorrow or wednesday to look for that air hose thing.
