ggsmit Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 this is my 1st post here, so don't start to roast me right away :y: the above sw has been mine for about 900,000km (speedo cable broke about ten years ago) - only replaced water pump once. but now she needs serious attention. especially in the gas department. she smells of the stuff and floods easily (especially turning sharp right downhill - the 2T will just stop turning). i cleaned the float chamber (weber) and reset the float, that seemed to help for about three days... any fundis here with an idea what should be done - apart from replacing her, obviously. greetings from south africa gg Quote
slapper Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 My first move would be to overhaul the carby ... sound like maybe a dodgey float needle and/or seat. Go to your local auto-parts store and buy a "carburettor overhaul kit" for the weber. Make sure it's one that includes a new float needle and seat - such a kit costs about $40 here in Australia, so it shouldn't break the bank. go from there. cheers, Slapper Quote
