The Do Not Call Register allows you register and make it illegal for telemarketers to call you.... apparently, if you register, and you receive telemarketing calls more than a month after you register, you can lodge a complaint online at www.donotcall.gov.au

 

I HATE having them call me trying to sell me crap I don't need...

yup....was on the news and tv about a month ago....already registered.

 

Keep in mind that people can still call you though.....they have to be one of these exemptions....

 

Exempt organisations include:

 

* charities or charitable institutions

* educational institutions

* religious organisations

* government bodies

* registered political parties

* independent members of parliament

* political candidates.
