ewenm Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 Hi i am using a 4kc motor and k50 5 speed in my Honda s600 rebuild, and i need to know about extension housings. the one i have is to long so the gear stick is to far back, i remember reading some were that there were 3 different lengths does this meen that the housing remains the same length and the gear stick position moves forward or is there 3 different overall lengths, and if so does that mean i need to get a shorter one and a shorter output shaft or what help ewen Quote
philba Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 I believe that if you go for the shorter extension housing (KE55) you will also have to get a tailshaft to match. I think the extension that you have would be the one out of the KE70 Quote
tojo2 Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 Extension housings from starlets and ke55 have the shifter about 10 cm further forward then the ke70. The Gearboxes have the same overall length so tailshafts remain the same. Quote
ewenm Posted July 29, 2007 Author Report Posted July 29, 2007 thanks for that is the gearbox rear mount in the same place and is it just a matter of unbolting the existing extension housing and bolting up the ke55 housing should i ring around wreckers, i,m in Brisbane is there anyone knowen here that handles the older stuff Ewen Quote
