I Wanna Build My 5k

Hey guys i brought a 5k in bits and was wandering where the best place to order parts would be

 

is there a full rebuild kit i can buy to suit a 5k I'm not very knowledgeable with engines but got many mates they can stick it together

 

is there any place that can rebuild it for me anyone from sa done this sorta thing i rang a few places and a standard rebuild is looking like 3g that seems alot for a 5k

Thats a pretty wide-open question mate. Any big-ish city would have multiple mechanics who would know what they were doing with a 4k/5k. They've been used relatively widely as budget race engines. Depending on how much you can do yourself (or with your mates), what you spend will vary widely, but in my experience $3000 should get you a lot of engine. Read the FAQ on building a tough K motor, then decide how far you want to take it, and how much you can be bothered doing yourself. Repco or Bursons (ie bulk aftermarket engine part distributors) would be the best and cheapest places to buy parts as Toyota like to bend you over and have their way with you for genuine parts. Try ringing a race-engine-only workshop and get them to tell you who they would use- thats always worked for me.
